Chapter 15

Rokuro showed the other shots. The smash wasn't that difficult for Lucy. Sending the ball straight down onto the ground with full force while jumping was something he didn't need to restrain his power for. For the long shot into the back of the field, the clear, Lucy had to restrain so the shuttle wouldn't go too far. The drop was hell of a problem. He had to fully hold back his power so the ball landed straightly behind the net. However, after some time, he believed to have found the right amount of strength he could use. "Okay, before we start..." Rokuro started, "...would you like to practice a little more via a ball machine?", "Sure." Lucy nodded. Rokuro went over to the teacher. "Shinozaki-Sensei, could I use the bazooka?", "Of course, Maeda-kun." The teacher nodded. "Thank you.", "Bazooka?" Lucy asked. "You'll see." Rokuro went into a room and returned with a red iron frame on which two gray plastic pipes were fastened. Rokuro filled the pipes with shuttles. "Alright, get ready!" he said. Lucy went to the opposite field and raised his racket: "I'm ready." Rokuro took one shuttle from one pipe and shot it onto the opposite field. Lucy blocked it and returned it long line. Rokuro sent shuttles towards Lucy until both pipes were empty. Lucy had returned all of them safely into the field. He got every single one of them, though some of them were hard to get. "Not bad!" Rokuro said. "Shall I help you collecting the shuttles again?" Lucy asked. He didn't even wait for an answer. He walked through underneath the net and dragged the box onto the field where all the shuttles were inside. He started collecting them and putting them back in. Rokuro helped him. He kept one shuttle before he pushed the box out of their field. "Half field or entire field?", "Entire field." Lucy responded. "If we do this, we do it right." Rokuro nodded. "Okay. Then, it's the first line on the side and the second one at the back that border the court." Lucy nodded. "Alright." Rokuro threw the ball against the net. It fell to the ground with the head pointing in Lucy's direction. "Alright, you get the serve." he said. Lucy picked up the shuttle and went behind the serve line. He breathed in deeply, closing his eyes. When he opened them again, he went for the high serve. Rokuro returned a very fast smash. Lucy however turned his racket and blocked the ball, sending it straightly behind the net. But Rokuro was a fast one. He started fastly, made a sidestep and returned the shuttle. An intense game flared up. Lucy was fast and reacted quickly, observed every tiny and single one of Rokuro's movements and went into the right position. 'I have watched him closely when he showed me the different shots... now, I can read in his body language what he's going to do next... He is very fast and gifted, it's hard to force him to leave an opening in his defense.' Lucy narrowed his eyes. 'He tries to drive me to the back of the court just to trick me with a short shot straightly after... That's not gonna work on me.' Lucy returned a long line shot. Rokuro raised his racket and Lucy expected a clear. But Rokuro dropped the ball. 'What..?!' Lucy rushed forward and almost didn't get the shuttle anymore. '...of course... drop and clear sometimes follow the same movement all in order to trick the opponent... how stupid of me to expect a clear. I have to be more careful next time.', "You're good!" Rokuro said. "Yet, I wasn't able to win a point against you. I don't believe that you never played badminton before!", "But I didn't lie." Lucy smashed the next ball with full power. It was too fast for Rokuro to reach and it landed on the ground. "One to zero for you, Kaito." Rokuro picked up the ball and gave it to him.
The match ended with a 21:0 victory for Lucy. Everybody else taking part in the club had watched it and half of the people started gaining eyes of the size of entire plates. Rokuro looked at Lucy. "Wow, Kaito. You're impressive." He stretched his hand over the net towards Lucy. "Good game!" Lucy took his hand. "You too. You are still a very tough one." Rokuro smiled. "I take the defeat with no complaining. I'm no pro after all!", "How did he do that...?!" Ryouta asked in unbelief. "He defeated Rokuro without giving him the chance to score even one point! How!?", "He's a fucking monster!" Nanako said. "NO ONE could beat Rokuro. And he, as a newcomer, did it like this?! How the hell did he manage that?!" Yuki folded her arms. "Impressive." she commented. Satan grinned brightly. "What did I tell you?", "You never promise too much regarding your brother." Hiko grinned. "Nobody can beat him." Satan stood up from the bench. Lucy came over to them. "Well, did you like it?", "You're freaking awesome!" Yuki said. A tiny smile appeared on Lucy's face. "Well, I wouldn't say it like this, but thank you.", "Murakami-kun?" Shinozaki came to him. "Yeah?" Lucy turned to him. "You did a good job. Keep it up, you're talented.", "Thank you.", "I've always said it!" Satan put an arm around Lucy's neck. "My big brother is strong and gifted!", "Raiden, please..." Lucy looked away. "Stop denying, bro! There's no way anybody could deny that!", "He's right." Yuki said. Lucy still looked away. "I... appreciate your opinions. I will go then...", "Have a nice day." the teacher said. Lucy nodded and Satan removed his arm. The black-haired devil put away his green racket and then left the gym, going to the changing room. But instead of taking on his school uniform again, he dressed in the white shirt, the black trousers and the black coat with the high collar he was always wearing. When he left the room, he smelled like deodorant. "Ready to go?" Satan asked while leaning against the wall. Lucy nodded. "Yeah." Satan looked him up and down. "...Do you always have your main clothing with you?", "Sure do." Lucy said. "Except for my boots, of course. But that doesn't really matter." Lucy threw his school back over his shoulder. "Let's go home." Satan nodded and they went down the stairs and left the building, going over the school yard. They went through the gate that was still wide open and walked down the street. "Did you like it?" Satan asked. Lucifer looked at him. "...Yeah. I enjoyed it." he replied. "It was fun trying some new things out.", "You've shocked most of the people.", "I'm used to it." Lucy shrugged with his shoulders. "So what."
