His lips quivered in fright even though he was relatively safe now. A pained expression crossed his features as Claudette tried her best to fix him up. Dwight, Jake, and Laurie were the first ones to witness the cruelty of the new killers. It took a toll on all of them but Dwight was the most shaken up. However, the (H/C) haired young girl couldn't help but smile at the thought of new creatures. Dwight had been trying to get through to her how horrible the trial was, how brutal the new killer was, and how he never feared death so much. But (Y/N) kept smiling to herself, not letting fear or negativity cloud her mind.
„You don't understand", he began with another speech, „I've never seen someone this aggressive."
„What about the cannibal? Being in a trial with him is just as a pain in the ass as this was", Jake threw in, sitting a bit offside the campfire. He already knew where the roots of (Y/N)'s positive nature lied, having befriended her the second she sat down next to him by the campfire when she got there. Or so he thought.
She wasn't dumb nor naive. She was terrified. And her system couldn't handle the sudden pressure. It just left her feeling overwhelmed and anxious and she didn't know how to show her discomfort or if she even could do that.
„It sounds fun", she commented. A monster who'll chase her like a survivor? Who could disguise themselves as one of them? Pretty frightening.
A sigh left Claudette when she pulled back and looked at Dwight's bandaged shoulder. „When is this going to end?" It was obvious she didn't expect a response. Because no one had one.
„Meg seemed to have no problems with it", Kate, who entered the realm of the entity just a week before (Y/N), threw in.
Meg was like a ghost story to her. She never met this girl, who everybody looked up to, but she could easily understand why she invaded everybody's thoughts. Jake told her that Meg was an athletic girl, another survivor, who was energetic and supportive.
„She was a bit like you, ya' know", he added with a smile after explaining.
Meg was a fun person to be around with, of course having her struggles in the realm like everybody else. But she never gave up and always kept her spirit up. In the end, it helped her greatly. She was gone before (Y/N) came. Having left for her old better life. No one expected her to disappear but everyone was happy for her, secretly hoping they would be the next.
(Y/N) would have loved to meet her, but she also was glad for her great escape.
Kate stood up abruptly, catching everyone's attention, even though they knew what was coming. The ones, who were chosen, felt it perceptibly. Every time a survivor was going to another trial, a weird kind of dizziness overflew them, and their chest pained.
Her eyes fell to the ground and she sat down closer to Dwight, urging him to tell her more about the new killer. Dismay showed itself in her eyes as they searched for more information, panicking about having to deal with the same fate as he.
(Y/N) felt it too. The discomfort was stronger than usual and a glance from Feng told her, who would share their dismay. David cleared his throat, silently announcing his participation in the upcoming trial.
That certainly was a new combination. The (E/C) eyed hadn't been paired up with those guys a lot, honestly, she wasn't in many trials, so it always presented to be a great challenge for the young girl. She didn't understand yet what her role in the team was. Machines weren't really her field of expertise, neither was medical work.
Standing up from her spot beside Jake, (Y/N) ran her hand through her hair. Releasing a sigh, she calmed herself down, suppressing the fear building up inside her.
She was scared. She was hella scared. However, she didn't need to show it to the others - it would just make them nervous too. Keeping her reassuring attitude up, she went towards Feng and David, Kate following close behind.
It was time to challenge the new one.
