„You look upset", the brown haired older girl stated the obvious. When their friend came back from the trial, she let out an exaggerated groan and sat herself down beside a rock, keeping her distance to the strangers and closer to her only friends.
„I couldn't get even one killed! Can you believe this? Those two always got in my way", the pink haired younger girl whined and leaned against the bigger stone, on which her other friend sat. „Those two?", the leader of the group became slightly interested in the conversation he once thought of boring.
Susie, a petite and nerdy girl, turned towards him and didn't hold back from calling those specific two survivors all the names behind the moon. They bothered her so much during the trial and she had no problem in letting her frustration spilled before her, for everyone to hear. Julie commented on some parts, stating that the survivors sounded annoying or toxic. Joey was quick to agree. But the two knew that Susie only needed time to get accustomed to the whole thing. She wasn't used to being all alone against people who have been here for way longer, already habituated to the routine of everything.
Frank saw it too. Susie was too fiercely investigated in her failure, being blind to the bold idea of just needing more practice. Although, it did make him curious about the existence of the survivors she referred. It wasn't because Susie was enraged by them, since it was really easy to get her on your bad side, considering her sensitive and sensible nature. Rather than that, it was how focused she became on them and how much breath she wasted on them. The way she described everything, sounded like those two unknown survivors attracted the whole spotlight, but who in their right mind would try that?
Where was the meaning of seeking the attention of the person you're supposed to avoid?
„Jaaaake!", she stretched his name in excitement. She threw herself at him, who in return embraced his arms to greet her; her arms flung around his neck and snuggled herself closer. „Woah there, kiddo. What's the thrill?", he asked the delighted girl, who let go of him for now and beamed with joy, while she cheered about her own accomplishment. She was cute when she did that, however, she always acted this way anyway. Her voice would sometimes go higher from being so overjoyed and she couldn't sit still anymore.
While eating with Jake, (Y/N) described everything as good as possible, even at the bad parts of the trial her spirit kept up high. High enough for her to even talk while still munching on her sandwich. Her childlike portions still seemed to be satisfying her hunger and give her the essentials energy in the trials, although he never understood how.
„You should have been there too!", her smile kept up, „You would have been so proud of me." The (H/C) haired was kinda right about that, but they've been in enough trials to know both that it would have gone differently with him by her side. (Y/N) adored to take the risky way, but with Jake, she wouldn't be able to do so. He was too worried about her well being than to let her act so reckless.
Of course, he kimd of understood why her behavior was so radical; it didn't change the bad vibe he was getting though. Her thought process during a trial was comprehensible, but it wasn't normal in the end. She didn't care about pain and that unnerved him since he couldn't stand the thought of that. He never witnessed her crying, though she was here for just a week and it could change drastically. However, the he didn't wish to ever witness that. The prominent smile, even if it was just in her eyes, was pleasing to observe.
(Y/N) noticed mid-sentence how Jake's focus slacked and how he hid his face in his scarf. Unlike him, she often couldn't bring herself to see the things from his perspective and it always confused her when he acted the opposite of herself. That's why she couldn't figure out while he would sometimes act so shy around her even though she was so open with him.
Nonetheless, she put some effort into getting his attention again and began talking about her experience with the new killer again after drifting into something else.
„I think the way she is chasing one is kinda funny though", it didn't attract the focus of the person she intended to. Laurie's head shot up from the opposite side of the campfire. „She?"
Dwight concentrated on (Y/N) now too, asking her again who the killer was. „It was a girl with pink hair", she gave a brief description and Jake looked up to her too.
„No, it was a guy in a leather jacket", Laurie disagreed, getting everyone else who was at the fire to join in with their curious looks. „He had a tattoo on his neck. There was no girl", Dwight added, glancing towards Jake, waiting patiently for him to agree in that subject matter.
However, before he could, David joined in and supported (Y/N) about the pink haired girl.
