Chapter 8

Fitz's POV

After meeting with Sophie I have to meet with the Council. Biana gets to a sleepover with Sophie.  Man is Biana lucky.   Once I get to the meeting I see all 12 Councilors and my dad and mom.  I sit down and immediately start dreaming about Sophie.

Her blond hair and brown eyes.  She has a perfect smile.

"Fitz what do you think?" asks my dad snapping me out of my daydream of Sophie.

"About what?" I ask.   The Councilors try to contain their laughter but they fail.  My dad smiles. 

"To find out if you are compatible as Cognates as soon as possible.  So we were asking you if you could find out tomorrow afternoon?"

"Yes, that is fine my schedule is free tomorrow afternoon."  I say my heart starts beating faster when I think about seeing her tomorrow afternoon.      I go back to day-dreaming about Sophie while the Councilors and my dad start talking again.

TIME SKIP THE DAY WHEN THEY SEE IF THEY CAN BECOME COGNATES

Sophie's POV

As I get ready to meet the King I think more about the possibility of  seeing Prince Fitz.  NO BAD SOPHIE! I mentally scold my self.  I could not like Fitz because he is after me.  And anyway he probably doesn't like me in that way!      Any way I dress in a pretty Teal dress  (A,N : I wanted to add a picture but didn't know how).  Once I'm done getting ready I go down stairs to start my day.  

IN THE AFTERNOON...................

"Bye Grady.  Bye Edaline," I say.

"Bye Sophie," Edaline and Grady say.

I head to the leap master.  "The Palace."  The crystal for the palace comes down.  I step into the beam of light with Sandor holding my hand.  Once I reform I see one of the staff from the castle at the gates waiting for me.  Once she lets me in she leads me to what I guess as King Alden's office.  The staff member knocks.  

"Who is it?" a voice from inside asks.

"Sophie Foster is here your Majesty," she responds.

"Ok let her in," the King says and the staff member lets me in. 

I start to curtsy but the King stops me, "No as I said yesterday don't curtsy to me."

"Yes your highness," I say.

"Please call me Alden."

"Of course," I say while looking around the room.  I know Biana is in here somewhere.

Knock Knock.

"Who is it?"

"It's me Fitz," the voice on the other side of the door says. 

"Ok son please come in so we can get started."

Prince Fitz steps into the room.

"Hello Sophie," Prince Fitz says.

"Hello Prince Fitz," I say in response.

"Please call me Fitz."
"Of course."

"Please have a seat," says Alden.  "Sophie as you are most likely wondering why you are here it is to see if you two share a telepathic bond.  But before we can tell I will explain to you what that means, First if you did share a bond you would be called Cognates, Next you would have to tell each other all your secrets, and Finally you will have a special bond."
"I mean no offence but what if I don't want for him to know all my secrets," I say thinking back to I DON'T KNOW MAYBE THAT I'M ON THE MOST WANTED LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!

"It's ok I get that," says Alden.  "But first we need to know if you can even become Cognates in the first place."

"Ok. What do you want me to do?" I ask thinking Fitz already knew.

"I would like both you and Fitz to enter my mind.  But if one of you do it by yourself I will know!"

"Ok," both me and Fitz say.

Sophie slanted Fitz Bold Alden Underlined

I know you are a great telepath so you take the lead Fitz said in my mind.

Ok  I replied.     I went first and Fitz followed.  He stopped me from going into any traps in Alden's mind and I stopped Fitz from rushing in.  As much as I hate to admit it working with Fitz was sooooo much easier than working alone.  Soon we entered Alden's mind.  I could tell what he was thinking. 'I wonder how long it will take them to get in? If they get in at all?'  he thought.

 Dad we are in! Fitz transmitted.  

'What so fast?  Is Sophie in here to?'

Yes Alden.

'WOW! You 2 will definitely become Cognates.' 

"Now for your first exercise you will be telling each other 3 small secrets," Alden says out loud as he leaves the room.

"Ok you go first," I say.

"I sleep with a stuffed dragon named Mr. Snuggles," Fitz says.

"I sleep with a stuffed elephant named Ella."

"I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a normal person and not a Royal."

"I was born in a human City."

"What was it like?"

"You're just asking so you get out of telling another secret."

"Maybe."

"Just say one I won't judge."

"Ok. Ok.  I pranked my sister Biana."

"What prank?"

"She drank a elixir thinking it was a hair product but it was really an elixir where she had an awful rash that wouldn't stop itching."

"Cool."

"What's your final secret?"

"I tricked my best friend Dex into going to a dance thinking it was a costume party.  It was pretty funny!"

Once I said my last secret Alden came into the room.  "Ok Sophie you are free to go," he said.

"Thank you Alden."

Thalia: Don't be annoying we all know they want to read because of backstabbing and me.

Hazel: I don't think that's why they want to read.  

Jason: Yeah.  It's because of me!

Nico: No I don't think that's why.

Percy: Yeah Nico knows whats up.  It's because of me!

Jason and Thalia: NO ME!

Percy, Jason and Thalia: NO ME!

Nico and Hazel: *Hits their face with their hand*

Chaos: *Rolls eyes*
