Chapter 22

Sophie's POV

Right now I'm at my booth at the Light Festival watching as the Royal Family plus Keefe arrive on the stage.

"As you all know this is the celebration of how even in the darkest of times light will always beat the dark.  So I would like to thank you all for coming now I'll hand the reins over to my son -the heir to the throne- and daughter,"  King Alden says.

"As you all know I'm Prince Fitz and this is my sister Princess Biana," Fitz says gesturing at Biana.  "Soon there will be a show where some of our Shades and Flashers will show how light is stronger then the dark."

"Then the unveiling of the Light Jewels," says Biana.

Everyone cheers.   

I watch as Tam, Wylie and the rest of the actors appear on stage.  

The Flashers summon balls of light and the Shades shiver even Tam but I can see that it's forced and the crowd cheered.

In defense the Shades summoned shadows.  The Shades charged the Flashers and paired up, Tam was with Wylie.   

Tam!  Stop or they might lock you up for being too powerful! I quickly transmit.

Tam's shadow creeps near me and whispers Ok.  

Thank you.

His shadow goes back to it's normal place and he collapses.  The guards that started creeping forward went back to their normal place.

I breathe out a sigh of relief and I see Linh and Biana do the same.

As the jewels are rolled out Linh waved her hands from the shadows which swallowed her up thanks to Tam.

Everyone except a few people looked at the surprise water show.  Light flashed through the water because of Wylie which was not planed but still works.  

I released the birds in cages that started to do tricks and the rest of the people looked up and that's when Biana vanished off the stage and I quickly handed her her cloak which she slipped on and disappeared the jewels following a few seconds later.  No one notices.

Biana has the jewels.  So exit 21,  I transmit to Linh, Tam and Wylie.

OK,  they all think.

Tam's shadows take over creating swirling dark beasts.  Everyone screams and tramples each other to escape. We join the crowd of fleeing people and escape without a trace.

We meet at our normal spot at Rose Island in the tree house.

"Great job, Biana,"  I say.

"Well I couldn't have pulled it off without you or Linh,"  she responds.

"Tam and Wylie also did great," says Linh.

"Thanks sis," Tam says.  "Thanks Sophie for the warning about the guards."

"No problem. Wylie your powers are getting stronger!"

"If it wasn't for Dex they wouldn't have and Tam was going easy on me I could tell!"

"Y-"  Linh elbows him "No."

"Linh your water show was amazing," says Biana.

"Thanks. Wylie helped."

"Yeah sorry about that," he says.

"What for?" Linh asks.

"Well the plan could have gone wrong."

"It didn't," I say.  "And more people looked when you did whatever you did."

"And it's a light festival," Biana adds.
