Rebel a sophitz story

Chapter 34

 I'm not good at action scenes so I apologize in advance.

Sophie's POV

The footsteps pounding on the hall are getting louder.

"Run!"  I yell again.

Linh and Biana look back at me before dragging Fitz away.

"Wait!  We can't leave him!"  Fitz yells at the girls.

"I'm female!"  I yell at him turning to face to Neverseen.  "And I'll be fine."

The Neverseen elf stop a good distance from me.

"So the Black Swan sent their Moonlark to come and try to rescue the prince?"  the Neverseen elf says.

I roll my eyes at the elf as they blather on and on but once I'm sure that my friends and Cognate are far enough away I inflict on the unsuspecting elf.

Once they were knocked out I turn and run the way my friends went.

Until I get to a forked path.

I sigh, annoyed, but focus on finding Fitz's thoughts.

There he is!

I take off down the left path following Fitz's thoughts.

After a couple more crossroads I finally reached my friends and Cognate at the front of the Neverseen base.

"Ready?" asks Dex.

The rest of us nod and I look for the light  leaping crystal in one of my pockets.

"You didn't think the party was over already?"  asks Fintan appearing behind us with group of Neverseen elves the one I knocked out is there too.

"We're sorry to leave so soon but we realized we have somewhere better to be," says Biana.

Tam snickers.

"Really?  Because I think we have someone you might want," says another elf from behind Fintan says.

From the corner of my eye I see Tam raise a eyebrow, "Recruiting, Fintan?  Need to find an elf that is as powerful as the Black Swan?"

The elf from behind Fintan scoffs, "I'm way more powerful little Shade."

"Anyway," Fintan says glaring at the elf. "We have someone you might want," Fintan snaps his fingers.

Another elf drags forward Marella!

I start forward, but Dex drags me back.

I turn on him, "We can't let them have her!"

"You think I like this anymore than you do?" Dex says glaring at Fintan over my shoulder.

I look down realizing that this girl, my friend, is also Dex's crush.

I turn back around facing Fintan once again, "What do you want for the girl?"

Biana makes a sound of protest but I subtly wave with my hand, signalling that I have a plan.

"Good to see that you are finally getting smarter," Fintan says with a smirk on his face.  "We want the Prince back, your Shade and you, Moonlark.  Also Moonlark if you are thinking of Inflicting think again because we have a blocker."

I scowl then look at Tam and gesture slightly at our hidden weapons hidden in the shadows of our cloaks.

He nods subtly.

"Can we have time to discuss?"  Dex asks.

"Sure," says Fintan.  "Since this is the last time you'll see each other why not."
