Chapter 41

Biana's POV

Olivia!

"Keefe get behind me," I command.

"You know that's useless, I can just twist some things in his mind," Olivia scoffs.

"Um, excuse me but will someone please tell me what's going on?"

"Not now Keefe!" 

"Sure," Keefe scoffs, "it's not like you're  fighting about me."

"We are not!" Olivia and I snap.

"Sure," Keefe says with a smirk.

Olivia gets out of her fighting stance, "Are you sure you want to defend him?"

"I'm doubting my decisions yes," I pause, "I've considered it, and I think I'll keep him around for a little longer."

"If you're sure," Olivia gets back into her fighting stance.  "But it will be worthless, we'll get him no matter what."

"Why do you care so much about one Empath?"

"Let's just say that someone on our side cares about him."

"My father," Keefe whispers in my ear.

I disappear.

"Are we going to play games?  I'm a Telepath, you can't hide from me!"

"I think you're forgetting that I train with the Moonlark," I whisper, standing behind Olivia.

"Ha!" Olivia turns, throwing a punch at where I was standing.

"Are you even trying?" I taunt, this time from Keefe's bed.

"Shut up!"

I feel Olivia searching for my thoughts and force my mind to go blank.

"Are you too scared to face me?"  Olivia asks and I know that she failed to catch onto my thoughts.

"No."

"Then why are you hiding?"

"Because I like evening the playing fields," I comment before throwing a punch at Olivia's head.

Olivia groans.

"Guards!" I call, turning back to normal.  "Intruder!"

A couple goblins rush into the room.

"Your Highness, this is just Fitz's girlfriend."

"She tried to attack me."

"Are you sure?"

"I think I would know if someone tried to attack me."

"Of course," the goblin bowed.

"Get me, Flelf."

"Right away," another goblin calls before hurrying away.

"What is going on?" my father asks, storming in to the room.

"Olivia tried to attack me!"

"Do you have any proof?" Fitz asks, walking in from behind my father.  "Because Olivia is on the ground, and here you are without a scratch."

"That's because I vanished!  You know, my ability."

Fitz scoffs.

"Search my mind, if you don't believe me," I say to both my father and Fitz.

"Alden, don't you think that this is ridiculous?" asks my mother.  "You are going to trust a stranger over your own daughter?"

I glance at my mom, confused.

"What reason would Olivia have for attacking Biana?" Fitz asks.

"Maybe because I'm a royal?" I suggest.

"Excuse me!" Keefe exclaims.  

"What?" Fitz snaps.

"I was here when the attack started, Olivia wanted to attack me."

"Then why did Biana get involved?" asks my dad.

"Because I did not want to go with Olivia and Olivia threatened to take control of my thoughts."

"They're both liars!" Fitz insists.

"Do you have any proof?" I ask, repeating Fitz's earlier words.

"To the dungeons!" Fitz commands.
