Chapter 36

Sorry for the late update!

Biana's POV

"Olivia!" Fitz exclaims.

"Fitz!" 'Olivia' exclaims again and rushes towards Fitz and my mom followed by my dad and I back away in confusion.

"Uh, Fitz?" I ask.

"Yeah?" Fitz says not looking away from 'Olivia'.

"Who is this?"

"Oh, I'm sorry," Olivia giggles.  "I'm Olivia, I'm Fitz's girlfriend."

"I'm sorry what!" I exclaim.

That's when Keefe bursts in, "I heard Fitz was awake!  Whoa who's the new girl?"

"I'm Olivia, Fitz's girlfriend."

"I'm going to guess that by the surprise on your face you didn't know either?"  my dad asks Keefe.

"Uh, no and I'm sort of confused about when this happened and why Fitz never told me."

"I think we all feel that way," says my mom.

I hear a gasp and see Sophie at the door way, watching Fitz kiss Olivia.

"I'll be back," I say to my parents and Keefe before bolting out the door and chasing down Sophie.  "Sophie!  Sophie!"

"Go away Biana," Sophie yells back at me, still running.

"Please," I say.

"What?" ask Sophie finally stopping.

"We didn't know either," I say referring to Olivia.

"Yeah, well it doesn't matter, I don't even know why I'm this upset," Sophie says rolling her eyes, "I don't even know why I care so much."

"Because you like him," I say softly.

"Whatever," Sophie says.  "I only came to see how he was doing, but now that I know, I can go."

"He was looking forwards to you coming."

"Until that girl showed up, right?" Sophie scoffs.

"Well if you won't come back for Fitz, come back for my parents?"

"What?  Why?"

"They really care about you," I say.

"Oh, alright, but if that girl starts sucking Fitz's face off, I'm leaving."

"Oh me too," I say in agreement, while leading Sophie back down the hall.

I reenter the room with Sophie and immediately see Olivia on Fitz's lap while my parents and Keefe look on awkwardly.

I clear my throat.

"Oh, Biana, you're back!" my  mother announces.  "And you brought Sophie!"

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Vacker," Sophie says doing a sort of head bow.

"Sophie, darling it's Della and Alden," my mother corrects.

"Foster," Kefee says going to give Sophie a hug.

Sophie rolls her eyes but accepts the hug.

"How are you?" my dad asks Sophie.

"I'm fine, how are you?"

"Thankful," my mom says.  "We're really glad Fitz came back."

"How is he?" Sophie ask.

"Fitz is fine," says Alden.

"Who is that?" I hear Olivia's voice say.

I look away from my parents, Sophie and Kefee and see that Olivia finally realized that there are other people in the room.

"I'm Sophie Foster, Fitz's, hopeful, cognate," Sophie says after Fitz stays quiet.

"Oh," I can see Olivia scowl before it turns back to a sickeningly sweet smile.  "Well I'm-"

"I know who you are," Sophie interrupts. 

That's when Flelf enters the room, "Elwin said that Fitz is cleared, but only if he takes it easy."

"Good," my father says.

"I've already sent out the letters and the meeting will be in an hour."

"Thank you Flelf."

Flelf nods and exits the room.
