(This chapter will be Mae's point of view just so you know how close she is with some of the skeletons)
Mae's pov
I was just finishing off some odd jobs before I went home, I wasn't in a rush since I had to close down because my co-worker had called in sick and we were closing early because of the snow anyway, so I wasn't really bothered.
I sighed happily putting up the last chair before I went to the locker rooms to get my bag, coat, gloves, and scarf.
As I walked back out I jumped, seeing Red standing at the front door. "Oh, Red, you startled me, what are you doing here?" I asked, walking up to him and smiling.
He gave me and toothy grin as he looked down at me. "I came to take ya home, of course, flower."
Awww that's really nice of him! "Aww, thank's Red! You didn't have to, heh, I don't work that far from home anyway." I said with a smile, really happy.
Red could be sweet at times.
He shrugged. "Eh, it's no problem sweetheart. Come on, let's get going."
I shivered as the cold breeze hit my face, winter was definitely not my favorite time of the year...
I looked up to Red and raised an eyebrow, was he was sweating? I could see red droplets on his skull, dripping down into the fur of his jacket. Was he hot or something?
"Urr Red?" I mumbled, giving him a worried glance.
Red looked down at me and smiled. "Yeah, sweetheart?"
"Are you ok? You're sweating an awful lot over there, are you hot?" I ask, curiously tilting my head and watching another droplet rolling down the side of his skull.
Red froze on the spot and his eye light disappeared for a second. "Y-Yeah, course I'm fine, don't worry about me, heh... Come on, let's get you out of the cold before ya freeze."
We finally got home and I shook the bits of snow off me before I took my coat and winter wear off. "Ah in the warm at last, hehe!" I giggled as I hung my coat up. "Thanks for walking home with me Red, you didn't have too."
Red smiled and shrugged, burying his hands in his pockets. "I know, but I wanted to, no biggy really. I'm used to the cold anyway flower, heh."
I nodded. "Well, thanks again Red!" I said as I went upstairs to my room.
"No probs!" He called from downstairs.
I closed the door to my bedroom as I started to get changed since I really needed to get out of my dirty work clothes, I just felt so gross, deciding to go take a shower.
I sighed, finally feeling clean again after having a nice warm shower and putting my soft strawberry scented winter pj's on. I grabbed my work uniform and went back downstairs to the basement where the laundry room was.
I looked around, thinking Cheshire and Reap might be down here. "Cheshire? Reap? Hmmm..." They weren't here so I just shrugged, maybe they were doing their work?
I put my work clothes in the wash basket and was about to head back up until I heard a humming noise. "What the...?" I looked around seeing if it was an insect, but nothing...?
Oh heh!
I laughed a little when I noticed a light bulb was flickering on and off, so I walked over to check it.
My eyes widened when I noticed what was making it flicker. "Oh my god..."
The light bulb had strange looking plant vines that were wrapped around it and making it loose, almost enough to fall to the floor. How did plant vines get down here?
