Chapter 51: The Lions Den

You, along with the girls, and G Pap were at a masquerade ball hosted by the mafiafell brothers. All of your nerves' were on edge. The brothers were taking you girls to meet their father, a major criminal.

G Pap leaned down to your ear and whispered, "I DON'T THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA FOR ME TO MEET THE DON.."

You shot him a worried look, "Why?" you whispered back.

G Pap had an uncomfortable look on his face, "LETS JUST SAY I'M...NOT THE BEST SKELETON FOR THE DON TO LAY EYE LIGHTS ON.." he mumbled. Even though you were confused as to why he was so nervous, you decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and trust that he'd be okay. Reaching out, you tapped Mae on the shoulder, resulting in both her and Ruben turning around. Ruben's face was painted with annoyance, but you just decided to brush it off.

"Are you ok Y/N?" Mae asked.

"Yeah, G Pap and I are just going to go grab drinks if that's alright?" you said as you shot Mae a smile.

She nodded, giving you a smile of her own. "Of course it is! You two go have fun, and we'll meet up later."

Ruben chuckled lowly, glaring at G Pap as he raised a bone brow at him, " What's wrong? You scared that you'll have flashbacks? Heh heh."

G Pap glared back at him, giving him a silent snarl. You frowned at the interaction; Ruben was extremely rude and nothing but a crude bully. Your blood began to boil, as the urge to slap him arose in your body. Your body tensed with anger as you thought about how easy it would be just to grab a chair and hit him over the head with it. However, you forced yourself to remain calm, setting a neutral expression on your face.

"COME MY DEAR! LET'S GO GET A DRINK! COME FIND US WHEN YOU AND SUZY ARE DONE MAE," G Pap broke the tension quickly.

"Um... sure?" Mae was oblivious to the tension in the air as Ruben quickly whisked her away, guiding her to the VIP area.

You frowned slightly and wished her the best, hoping that they (her and Suzy) would be alright on their own, as you walked away to the bar with G Pap.

"What was that all about?" you asked as you looked up at him.

"I DIDN'T WANT TO CAUSE A SCENE DEAR, IT'S BEST WE STAY AT THE BAR UNTIL THEY ARE DONE." G Pap replied nervously.

You had never seen him like this before, which set you on edge even more. You hugged his arm in an attempt to calm his nerves and sooth your own. You could only hope that Mae and Suzy were alright, as they dealt with the Don...

Mae's POV~

Suzy and I are being led to the VIP area by Ruben and Boss, Y/N and G Pap left to go to the bar. G Pap looked really nervous back there. I frowned hoping he was okay. At least he has Y/N to calm his nerves, which soothed my thoughts. I had one less thing to worry about since I knew those two would be safe. However, I still felt uneasy, as I mentally prepared myself before I met an extremely powerful mafia boss.Suzy looked nervous too, so I slipped my hand into hers, giving it a squeeze as I smiled softly at her. She shot me a small smile back, as I released my hand from hers, facing forward once again.

As we got to the VIP area, two very tall, lizard looking monsters in suits were standing in the way of the entrance. One looked like an alligator, the other a komodo dragon. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise as the alligator monster looked down at Suzy and I, his nostrils flaring as he took in our scents.

"Jesus fucking Christ..." Suzy mumbled.

He then looked up to Ruben and Boss, giving them a nod, "The Don is waiting for you two... who are the humans? " he asked.
