^^^Tell you what guys. I decided that I will not follow the death of our beloved Shorter. Seriously, because it's heart breaking. I will not kill him... I'll just go and make him missing. Hehe.^^^
It's been weeks since Ash was on the run.
She had lost contact with them over the last phone call they had on their way to Cape Cod. But now she was being summoned to Dino's meeting room to meet the guests, only first to find Shorter who was being held back and Eiji who weakly sat on the sofa.
Dino was there too, including Arthur, the guards and a beautiful Chinese man who was looking at her.
Her senses sharpened from the very sight. She reflexively unsheathed her knife hidden on her belt and backed away. "What's going on?" She asked.
"Y/n..." Eiji weakly called.
She ran after him, checking if he had injuries before sighing in relief. "How are you feeling?" She asked.
"I'm..." he held his head.
"I see that you're as attached to him as Ash does. That japanese boy must be really special." Golzine laughed.
"He is a nice guy." The girl stood up to face the old man with a smile. "And I wouldn't be pleased if this delicate big bro is hurt." A sign of warning crossed the room unexpectedly.
Dino laughed. "I guess I have to take into account that you're not an ordinary child to be messed with. But don't worry, I won't be killing him anytime soon." He said. "I called you out to speak with you, y/n." He signalled his men to leave.
This followed with Shorter and Eiji being dragged out. She simply watched before the door closes, leaving her, Dino and Arthur on that small room. "Now. I would want you to give me a plan."
"Plan?" She asked. Not liking how it sounds.
"A way to play little mind tricks with Lynx." He said.
She simply stared back. Giving a blank expression over his words to conceal her emotion. "I'll see to it that you're entertained." She replied flatly.
"Oh? And I thought here you would protest because he's your brother." Arthur said back.
She gave him a cold glare. Dino stood up and petted her head lightly. "Watch carefully, Arthur. This is what it means to be a professional between amateurs." He said. "When it comes to job, there is no spare emotion. No matter who it is or how attached you are with your target."
Arthur laughed. "Snakes huh."
"Call me snake and I'll hang you out of dignity." She warned.
He glared back. "I'm glad I'm not the one babysitting a little monster." He said.
"I don't need a weakling guarding me."
"That's why you chose a weak little Chinese rat for a guard." He laughed.
"Well, better than a barbaric thug who can't even walk on his own feet."
"Enough with that, little ones. I still have to show you how banana fish works." Golzine came in between. Stopping the argument before they end up killing each other on his office.
"Banana fish..." she muttered. "I've been thinking what is that." She said looking over to the old bald who gave her a look.
"It's a mind control drug." He said. "The best assassination drug anyone could come up with." He explained.
"That sound very dangerous." She replied. "I'm surprised you had such a thing. But naming it after Salinger's work isn't really original." She replied back.
