She hardly parkoured into the stiff alleys and buildings only to find Sing actually catching up.

She looked back finding the raven still keeping up with her phase painstakingly trying as hard as she could . She grunted, taking the next detour, giving a second of look to spot an open window just above the emergency exit. Finally lifting herself up to enter an empty corridor.

An apartment. She guessed, walking forward. However, her sharpened sense took notice of the silent thud behind her. She frowned. Finally grunting in defeat to find Sing catching his breath. "Just why are you following me?" She asked.

"I have questions so stop running away." He replied back.

"And I should not answer you." She said.

"Y/n. I just want to know what happened that night."

"And I can't lie about that to you. That's why I will not answer you." She sighed. "Sing. I know you have the right to know about it... but I..." she looked away feeling her face turning red.

"What?" He asked back. Concern painted to his expression. "Tell me. What's keeping you?"

"Sing... ah... I hate myself.." she held her head in frustration.

He watched how troubled she looked at that moment. Probably taking toll to his conscience, he sighed defeated. He stretched his hand towards her which she stared at dumbstruck. "It's your birthday." God why do I feel like I want to protect you?! "How about we get something for you."

"But Sing--"

"Enough with your useless buts." He automatically grabbed her hand less likely caring about what she feels or thinks. "Your day. I won't ask you questions. Period." He said, pulling her with him into the corridor.

"Sing... you're being too nice." She said seriously. "If you keep that up, you'll get yourself in trouble."

"I'm not being nice." He said back.

"Then why are you..."

"It's your birthday. So shut up and fill your enjoyment bucket." He said. "I will not care which ever you may think of me."

She looked at his back that was facing her. The little gangster still refusing to let go of her hand. That feeling of his palm to hers was always been the best feeling. Watching their hands entwined simply eased her head, she held him tighter. Sing glanced back curiously catching her eyes that stared back at him giving him a tingling sensation all the way to his spine. Her e/c bright eyes, however, blankly staring back. He evaded, using the way as an alibi to his distraction. But hard for him to admit, he liked the color of her eyes. Keeping those e/c orbs staring back to him... only him.

"Where are we going?" The girl asked.

"I'm thinking." He said back.

"So what did you think of?"

"Nothing yet."

She laughed. He gave a glare but strip off the look back into focusing his eyes into the way.

"So. What is that about?" She asked pointing down the package he was holding to his free hand. "I can't read Chinese characters." She explained.

Sing shrugged. "Don't know. Yut Lung asked me to get it." He said.

"Yut Lung?" She asked back.

"Guy's a Lee. The youngest child apparently."

"Oh. That pretty young guy who was in Monseiur's mansion." She recalled, poking an interest and curiosity to sing. "He's nearly used. Luckily, I heard they escaped the unexpected harem."

"Harem?" Sing looked surprised.

"Yeah. Something really bad. I'm thankful that didn't get to continue."

"So, how about you choose a place. Somewhere you want." He said.

She looked bacm at him with wondering eyes. "Hmm... Underground." She replied.

"Underground?" The boy repeated questioningly.

"Yeah. Undergrounds are steep and dark. The best place to be."

Sing blinked twice. Unknown how to react to that situation and in thought of whether he would grant her place of choice or not.

"Underground, huh." He sighed. "We have a territory there. I guess I can take you someplace I can control." He said.

"Great! As expected of my former bodyguard!" She clapped her hands together happily. "You're the best, Sing."

The boy blushed upon hearing her compliment. He quickly looked away. "For the love of every creature, stop bribing me with words. It won't work." He said.

She laughed. "Why, boss? Widening the range of your soft spot for me? Awww... that's cheezy." She teased.

"Great. Now you're starting to make me regret even trying to appease you." He said back.

She smiled. "That's awfully sweet of you Sing. Thanks." She made a quick phase to match him. Holding tight to their entwined hand while walking side by side. "I wish you're not a gangster. You know that." She started again after a couple of silence.

The young Chinese gave her a glance with wonder. "What was that about?" He asked.

"Probably if you're not a gangster, you could have lived a better life--not that this life isn't good." She quickly defended. Yet a stark of sadness slightly portrayed out of her eyes. "But of you weren't, I couldn't have bothered you all the way." That's better, right? A life without  murderer like me... she sighed. Covering her mouth as though trying to stop herself from speaking further.

Sing felt a sudden heat erupted to his chest. That was the worst 'what if' he's heard his entire life abruptly pushing her on the wall of the corridor with hands on both side of her head. "So, what's wrong with that?" He asked back. "What's wrong if I met you in the worst part of life other people hates?"

Still covering her mouth she looked away. "I just thought I'm the worst that that could ever happen." She said.

"And so am I. So what? I'm proud of what I do whether people like it or not." He made his face closer. "And if seeing you in the worst place is not good enough for me--if fate allows it, I will always find you anywhere you are."

She felt her cheeks blushed. Softened and emotional at the moment she's facing him. Sing could have been her destruction if it keeps up. "Sing..." she shakily called the raven's name. Hardly trying to let a tear escape.

"I've seen your worst. What difference would it make now?"

"That's not my worst Sing..." she shook her head. "I'm a heartless monster--"

Y/n's eyes grew wide. His lips kissing the back of her hand That she was using to cover her lips. If anything it looked like they were kissing but her hand was a barrier to it. She simply watched silently in shock when he kept that for longer than ten long seconds. He departed, still close enough to let his breath brush her cheeks.

"Y/n... I..."

She felt her goosebumps rose. She shut her eyes closed feeling mixed emotions that didn't want to ease her. No Sing... don't say it! She hardly took a silent plea.

"I don't care about that. I've told you a million times now. And I... I'm..." it was hard to say. Telling her that now would make her feel like running away. If only there's a better way for Sing to say it--his confession.

"It's okay now Sing." She removed her hand off her lips and smiled. "Don't say it... it's better if you won't say it... not now, hopefully. But I'm glad that you don't hate me." A tear finally escaped her eyes.

Her tears are always been the most honest thing Sing has ever seen. But only seen it twice. Her tears that pushed him into desperately wishing he could protect her. Fragile and innocent.

He gently tapped her head closing himself to secure her in his arms. A hug he thought he could've done sooner. I think I'm inlove with you, you stupid brat. He thought, kissing her hair that smelt almost too irresistible for him.
