“Thank you again for doing this Mia,” the organiser said looking at the brunette before him, he didn’t know what he would have done if she hadn’t volunteered to help him out for the next few weeks.
Mia Trevanion smiled at him brushing some hair from her face, she knew that the world cup was a big event for South Africa and she wanted to do her part even if it meant traveling around the country with a football team for a while.
“It’s not a problem,” Mia replied looking at the other people that had gathered to help out, she knew that she wouldn’t have even come without her cousin dragging her there; Cassidy just wanted to meet some footballers and wasn’t interested in doing any of the hard work.
“So you will be spending the tournament volunteering for the Spanish national team with Cassidy,” the organiser said before he looked at Mia’s cousin annoyed, he knew that she was just going to be trouble but he needed people to volunteer and it was sort of all hands on deck at the moment.
Mia nodded her head knowing that she would have to head home and pack since the teams would all be landing in the next few days so that they could get used to the climate; she sighed wondering how her family would cope with her gone.
Mia’s family owed their own hotel it also doubled for her father’s veterinary surgery which he ran with his new wife however the family had begun to struggle lately.
Mia knew that the world cup should have been a time were the hotel was booming with business but nothing was happening even with the new marketing ploy that she had come up with.

“I can’t believe that you allowed Cassidy to talk you into this,” Rosie Trevanion said looking her younger sister, she knew how fickle their cousin could be and she wondered why Mia had gone along with it.
Mia sighed walking around her bedroom so that she could pack her holdall, she wasn’t going to pack much since she doubted that there was much that she needed; Rosie sighed as she sat down on her sister’s bed.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Rosie asked making Mia smile at her older sister, she knew that Rosie was going to miss her; they had never been away for each other for long and even when Rosie went to Cape Town with Max to study to become a vet, Mia had followed her for business school.
“I’m sure Rosie… I need to do something other than sit around Leopard’s Den and maybe this will help me decided what to do next,” Mia said with a small smile as she looked at her sister, she was going to have to grow up and that this was a chance for her to stand on her two feet for the first time in her life.
Rosie sighed as she looked at her younger sister, she knew that Mia was right but she didn’t want her to go; the two had been through a lot together from their mother’s death to Rosie’s recent divorce from Max.
“It’ll be okay besides I’ll only be gone for a couple of weeks,” Mia said giving her older sister a hug, she knew that this wasn’t going to be easy for her and she hoped that when she came back she knew what she wanted to do with her life.
Rosie smiled softly holding her sister close, she knew that she couldn’t protect Mia forever even if she wanted to; Mia was twenty-four and she had recently finished university, she needed to start living her own life.
“Dinner’s ready,” Nomsa Nguni called making the two sisters smile at one another, they had known Nomsa since they had arrived at Leopard’s Den and she was as much a part of the ever growing Trevanion family.
“Come on you still have to tell Dad yet,” Rosie said wrapping an arm around Mia’s shoulder and led her out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen; both sisters knew that Danny Trevanion wasn’t going to be pleased to hear that his daughter was disappearing for a couple of weeks.

Iker Casillas stared at his girlfriend of a year, he couldn’t believe that he was hearing this just before they were set to travel to South Africa for the world cup; he knew that she hadn’t been happy lately but this wasn’t what he had expected.
“You want to take a break,” Iker said to be sure that he had heard her right, he ran a hand through his hair as Sara Carbonero continued to pack her bag for the trip; she was one of the reporters that would be traveling with the national team for the tournament.
“It’s nothing personal Iker, I just want to concentrate on my career… do you know how big this tournament will be for me?” Sara said looking at her boyfriend, he didn’t want to hear this right now and she did feel a little bad for what she was asking but no one would take her seriously if she was dating the captain of a team.
Iker sighed annoyed that she wasn’t even discussing this with him, he knew that Sara was independent and that was what had attracted him to her but he had never expected this; he wasn’t sure what to say to her request.
“It’s only for the world cup… after the tournament everything will go back to normal,” Sara said flashing him a seductive smile before she walked towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck; she kissed him knowing that he wasn’t happy about this.
Iker rested his head against hers as he thought about what she had said, he knew that she wasn’t the only one that needed to concentrate on the tournament. Spain were one of the favourites to win after winning the Euros and Iker was starting to feel the pressure.
“Por favor amor,” Sara said brushing her lips against his, she knew what she was doing was wrong and she knew that Iker wasn’t going to forgive her for what she was going to put him through for her career.
“Okay,” Iker agreed smiling down at his girlfriend, he knew that it wasn’t a permanent thing and that in a few short weeks he would have Sara back again; he kissed her lips knowing that this wasn’t going to be easy for either of them.
The reporter smiled up at him pulling back and went back to packing while Iker moved to check on his own, he glanced at her wondering if she had another motive for wanting to take a break from their relationship.
“Sara, if there was something going on… you would tell me?” Iker asked looking at his girlfriend, he watched as she paused for a moment before she looked at him confused making him sigh relieved that she didn’t have other motives.
“Of course,” Sara said easily making Iker smile at her relieved before he left their bedroom, she swallowed as she watched him go before she carefully reached for her phone and sent a text message.
Sara stood quietly for a moment as she thought about what she was doing, she knew that she was going to get into a lot of trouble for this and she hoped that it wouldn’t cost Iker if the truth was discovered.
Sara moved to continue packing as she thought about what she was doing, she was going to spend the tournament using inside Intel to boost her career and she knew that when she did it would get Iker into a lot of trouble.
