“You look nervous,” Mia said as Iker took her hand and pulled her close, he kissed her softly as they prepared to leave the hotel; the brunette smiled into the kiss knowing that they were going to see her family.
Rosie had demanded that she bring home her boyfriend of three weeks after the kiss on television, she was thrilled her sister had moved on from her last boyfriend and she was curious about the new one that Mia had gotten herself.
“Iker… my dad isn’t going to feed you to the lions,” Mia teased as she remembered telling her boyfriend what her family did for a living, she was a little surprised how impressed he looked as she told him the story of how her family had left behind their home in Bristol, England to run a game reserve in South Africa.
Iker chuckled as he kissed Mia again, he knew that she was right but he couldn’t help but be nervous; he knew that they had every reason to be wary of him when they arrived at her home especially since they knew next to nothing about him.
“I know… but if he decides to do so, I want you to know that I love you,” Iker said making Mia smile as she kissed him, they had agreed that it was finally time for them each to meet the others families; they were heading to Leopard’s Den that afternoon to spend the night with Mia’s family before his arrived the next day.
Mia laughed as she hugged her boyfriend, she didn’t know what he was so nervous about; she had given him no reason to do so and she had never seen him like this before a football match.
“I love you too,” Mia said with a smile on her face, she was sure that her family would be completely welcoming to her boyfriend even if he was a footballer.

“Hi Dad,” Mia said wrapping her arms around her father and hugged him, she knew that she hadn’t seen much of him while she had been volunteering but there wasn’t much time left for the tournament.
Mia was wearing a mocha top with plunge neck and contrast trim and black high waist skinny jeans paired with black heeled sandals; she glanced at her sister, who was pretending not to stare at a nervous Iker.
“Please be nice,” Mia whispered pulling back and shot Danny a warning look, she knew he’d never really liked any of the men that her sister had brought home; he didn’t even like her current fiancé but she really liked Iker and didn’t want him scaring him away.
Danny turned his attention to the nervous looking Spaniard that his daughter was dating, he had been shocked to see them kiss on live television and from what Rosie had told him; they had been together for a little while.
“You must be Iker… it’s nice to meet you,” Danny said wiping his dirty hands on his jeans and approached the footballer; he and Dup Plessis had done a little research into the man that Mia was dating, they weren’t sure what they were going to get when Mia had told them that Iker wanted to meet them.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you too Mr Trevanion,” Iker said holding out his hand to shake Mia’s father’s, he couldn’t help but feel nervous as he looked at the man before him; he wasn’t sure now why he had thought that this was a good idea.
“Call me Danny, Mr Trevanion was my father,” Danny said shaking Iker’s hand, he had to admit that he was a little impressed with the footballer; even if he was four and a half years older than his daughter.
Mia watched as her sister came to stand beside her, she knew that her family were going to make him feel welcome in some way; she just hoped he’d be prepared for them, she didn’t consider them to be a normal family in anyway.
“Danny, don’t be scaring the poor man,” Alice said as she came out of the house, she knew her husband all too well and how protective he was over his daughters; she just hoped that Iker knew what he had let himself in for.
Danny looked at his wife confused as she walked down the steps and approaching them, he huffed as he looked at her knowing that she was going to stop him and Dup Plessis from making sure that Iker was right for Mia.
“I’m Alice… Mia’s stepmother,” Alice said as she stood by her husband, she knew that Mia would never forgive him if he drove the footballer away; plus she had seen how he treated Rosie’s fiancé and she didn’t need him repeating his actions.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Iker said as he shifted nervously as Mia returned to his side, he was slightly relieved that his girlfriend hadn’t left him to the wolves like Sara had when he had met her family; Mia took his hand making him swallow as he glanced at her father and stepmother.
“It’s nice to meet you as well,” Rosie said staring at Iker as Caroline appeared out of the house, he wasn’t sure what to expect now that he was meeting her family but he knew that he would be there for her when she met his parents.

Rosie watched Iker with her sister, she smiled softly knowing that this was the first time in a long time that she had seen Mia like this; she had worried that Mia was getting in over her head when she had seen the kiss on television.
Mia kissed Iker softly before she collected her grey hobo shoulder bag and headed off to her bedroom, she had no idea that her older sister had been waiting for this moment since they had arrived.
Iker stood and prepared to follow after her before Rosie approached him, he looked at his girlfriend’s older sister who hadn’t said much to him since they had arrived but he knew that she had something to say to him.
“I’m only going to say this once… so I want you to listen carefully, if you ever do anything to hurt my sister, no one will ever find your body,” Rosie threatened as she glared at Iker, she knew that he had no idea what had happened with Austin and she had a feeling that Mia wouldn’t be telling him anytime soon.
Rosie didn’t know the full story but she knew that Austin had hurt her sister and she would never forgive him for that.
Iker looked at Rosie and nodded his head, he had no intentions of ever hurting Mia in anyway and he knew that he had something special with Mia; he didn’t even mind having a long distance relationship with her.
“You have my word,” Iker said knowing that Rosie was going to keep her threat, he doubted that Mia would want her sister to know how their relationship had really started.
“Good,” Rosie said before she turned around and walked away without looking back at the footballer, she knew that she was being harsh but the last time she had welcomed someone dating her sister; it had come to bite her in the bottom.
Iker watched her go knowing that how much Rosie meant to her sister, he just hoped that he would be able to warm her up to him; the last thing that he wanted was for Mia to be torn between him and her sister.
“Iker?” Mia called softly making the footballer smile as he headed for her bedroom, he knew that she had no idea about what had happened and he wasn’t going to tell her.
