Iker’s lips brushed against Mia’s, he couldn’t help himself knowing that it had been days since he had last touched her; he carefully moved his hands to unzip her dress, he wanted to show her how much he loved her.
“Iker,” Mia murmured allowing Iker to touch her, she had missed him so much but there were things on her mind that she needed to ask him; she needed to know how things stood between them before she committed to anything.
“We need to talk,” Mia said carefully pushing him away from her, she offered him a small smile knowing that this wasn’t easy for them; she hated that she couldn’t give him what he wanted, she needed to be reassured a little that she wouldn’t end up hurt when they were living apart.
Iker sucked in a breath as he looked at his girlfriend, he had a feeling that he wasn’t going to enjoy this talk since it was clear that his mother’s words were still playing on her mind; even though he had told her to forget them.
“I’m sorry,” Mia said moving to sit on the bed, her blue eyes looking down at her hands as she stared at the bracelet and tried to think of how best to approach this with him; she didn’t want to say something that she would come to regret.
Iker sighed as he sat down next to Mia, he could tell that she was struggling with what she wanted to say to him; he took her hand making her look at him as he ran his thumb over the back of it.
“How will this work?” Mia asked watching her boyfriend, her eyes tracing his face as if he would send her away never to see him again.
Mia smiled softly as he squeezed her hand in comfort, they were going to have to have this conversation sooner or later and he was grateful that she had brought it up when she had.
“I’ll do anything to make this work Mia… I’ll call and Skype with you as much as I can, I’ll even flying out when I have a break,” Iker said smiling at Mia, he was serious about things with her and he knew that he wasn’t going to let her go without trying to make this work between them.
Mia nodded her head as she thought about what he was saying, she didn’t want this relationship to be one-sided and she knew that she wouldn’t always be able to afford to fly out to be with him in Madrid; she would have a life here without him.
“I’ll fly out during the season to see you,” Mia said making Iker smile at her words, he nodded his head knowing that he wouldn’t be the only one trying to make this work; he didn’t like the idea of being away from Mia but it was just too soon to ask her to move to Madrid for him.
Iker knew she’d never be able to leave her family behind and her life, he wasn’t going to ask her to no matter how selfish he wanted to be; he knew that his career wasn’t forever and he hoped that when it ended that Mia would be waiting for him.
“We’ll make this work Mia,” Iker promised her as he carefully drew her into a tender kiss, he would pay for her to fly out and join him whenever it was possible and he’d willingly fly out to South Africa when he had a break from playing.

Iker ran a hand through his girlfriend’s hair as she slept soundly beside him, she made a small noise as he wrapped an arm around her and held her close to his chest; he smiled pressing a kiss to her head knowing they’d have to get up soon.
Fighting back a yawn, Iker rested his head against Mia’s, Iker couldn’t help but smile as he thought about how everything had worked out; he wasn’t going to risk his relationship with Mia again and he was glad that his parents were leaving that day.
“What time is it?” Mia murmured softly as she curled into Iker’s arms, she had missed sleeping next to him and she knew that until the tournament was over for Spain that she wouldn’t be allowed to do this a lot.
Iker opened his eyes and looked over at the clock, he was surprised that she was awake after the night that they’d had; he had shown her just how much he had loved her and he was glad that she hadn’t ended things with him.
“Half eight,” Iker said knowing that he had a training session in two hours, he knew that Vicente expected him to be there after allowing him to spend the night with his girlfriend; the manager hoped this would put the captain in a better mood than he had been in the last few days.
Mia yawned cuddling into his warm embrace, her blue eyes remained closed as she wondered if she could fall back asleep for a while; they would have to leave the room at some point so that Iker could go to training.
“You have training this morning,” Mia said feeling her boyfriend press a kiss to her head, she wondered how many of the others had known about what he had planned; the brunette knew that Olalla and Anna would want to know what had happened between them.
Iker nodded his head as he closed his eyes, he wished that he didn’t have to get up soon but he needed to have a shower before training and his training kit was back in his hotel room; he hated to leave Mia after a night like that.
Iker’s eyes snapped opened as his girlfriend pulled away from him, she climbed out of bed making him look at her confused before she flashed him a cheeky grin; he tilted his head curious about what she was doing.
“Are you coming?” Mia asked heading towards the bathroom, there was no way that he would be able to stop himself from joining her in the shower.

“I take it things went well then,” Xavi said watching Mia join the girls for breakfast, he looked at Iker who seemed a little too pleased with himself; he had no doubts that the couple were still together.
Iker nodded his head as he helped himself to some toast, he knew that his friends had all been worried about him after what had happened but he had been grateful for their help.
“We talked things through,” Iker said nodding his head, he didn’t want to discuss his sex life with his best friend and he could see that Xavi was grateful for that; they could tell each other everything but talking about sex wasn’t something either of them liked to do.
Xavi nodded his head knowing that it was for the best, the couple were going to have to deal with a long distance since it wouldn’t be fair for either of them to give up their lives just for the other; it would ruin their relationship if they did.
“Gracias,” Iker said making Xavi look at him, he knew that he wouldn’t have been able to pull of the surprise dinner without his friends help; they had been the ones to ensure that the night was perfect and Mia hadn’t known it was going to happen.
“Don’t mention it… we just want you to be happy,” Xavi said patting Iker on the shoulder, his eyes glancing over at Mia knowing that if the brunette ever did anything to hurt his best friend then she’d have him to deal with.
Iker was a great guy and he only deserved the best, he didn’t need someone using him and making him into someone that he wasn’t.
It was going to take a lot of work to make their relationship work, Mia was going to be living in South Africa while Iker would be back in Madrid; it wasn’t going to be easy, they would have to make sacrifices for their relationship.
