Iker pressed a kiss to Mia’s cheek as he carefully climbed out of bed, he smiled tiredly knowing that the last two weeks had been different for her as she settled into life in Madrid.

The couple were only a few weeks off from their first anniversary and Iker knew that it was going to be special, they already had a small holiday planned for them and Abigail for the summer.

Abigail was four weeks old now and Iker loved spending time with his daughter especially with the scene coming to a close, she was perfect in his eyes and always would be.

“Te amo,” Iker murmured watching Mia for a moment, he pulled on some sweat pants as Isco looked at him from his place by the door; the dog had taken to sleeping between the master bedroom and the nursery.

Iker smiled as he quietly left the bedroom and headed to collect Abigail who was due to wake up soon for her morning feed.

Iker enjoyed feeding her a bottle in the morning, it was a new development but Mia pumped the night before so that he could feed Abigail since he was always up first because of training and Mia often did the early morning feed.

Iker smiled to himself as he carefully picked Abigail up and whispered softly in Spanish to her, he knew that she was going to speak both Spanish and English since that was who she was.

Abigail blinked open her blue eyes as she stared up at her father, she gave him a bit of a smile making Iker chuckle as he held her close; she was the most beautiful thing in the world to him next to her mother.

“Let’s get you some breakfast,” Iker whispered quietly carrying Abigail downstairs so that he didn’t wake Mia, she deserved a little lie since she spent the most time with Abigail.

Mia rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she slowly woke up, she blinked confused as she realised that Iker wasn’t next to her; she knew he didn’t have training until that afternoon so it made her wonder where he was.

Mia carefully brushed her fingers through her hair as she climbed out of bed, she reached for her neon green fleece hooded robe to cover her blue crochet trim vest and shorts set and wrapped it around her.

Mia knew that her boyfriend had probably woken up early and taken Abigail downstairs to feed her; she knew that he wanted to spend as much time with his little girl as possible.

Heading downstairs and into the main room where she knew Iker would be, Mia smiled softly as she spotted him sat on the couch with Abigail in his arms as she was fed her bottle.

“Morning,” Mia said softly padding over to her boyfriend of eleven months and gave him a kiss, she smiled down gently at Abigail who seemed happy about being fed.

Iker smiled softly as he looked at his girlfriend, he was surprised that she was awake since Abigail hadn’t made a sound since he had picked her up; she was clearly going to be a daddy’s girl and Mia knew it.

“Do you want some coffee?” Mia asked watching Iker continue to feed their daughter, she knew how much he loved spending time with Abigail and he was always going to put her first.

Iker nodded his head as he flashed his girlfriend a smile, he wasn’t tired yet and he knew that Abigail would be finished with her feed soon and would go back down for a nap until about eleven in the morning.

“Do you fancy any breakfast?” Mia called sticking the kettle on, she was glad that Iker didn’t like any fancy coffee since she only knew how to make the one kind.

“Some toast would be nice,” Iker said looking down at Abigail, he couldn’t believe that she was four weeks old; it was slowly dawning on him how quickly his daughter was going to grow up.

Mia nodded as she popped some bread into the toaster, she moved to let Isco out into the back garden, and she knew that the dog was going to pee somewhere if he didn’t go out soon.

Iker yawned softly as he finished feeding Abigail, he set down the bottle and moved to burp the little girl; he gently patted her back until she burped and checked that she hadn’t spit up on him.

Mia’s laughed softly collecting the dish cloth as Iker’s grimaced over the fact that Abigail had spit up on him; she handed it to him before taking Abigail so he could clean himself up.

“Did you spit up on your papa?” Mia teased cuddling Abigail close, she smiled at Iker as he wiped off the old top that he wore to bed.

Iker was just relieved that he hadn’t been topless when Abigail had decided to be sick, he looked at his daughter knowing that he didn’t mind at all.

The sound of toast popping out of the toaster made Iker’s stomach rumble making Mia laugh softly as she held Abigail close, it was time to put the little girl down for a nap for a while.

“I’ll settle her down,” Mia said nodding towards the kitchen, Iker smiled as she walked away knowing that he had never felt this calm and content in a long time.

“I’m happy that you and Abby are here,” Iker said wrapping his arms around his girlfriend, he knew that this could have turned out differently and that Mia could have remained in South Africa with her family.

Iker wasn’t sure that he would have been able to cope that she had decided to stay there, he would have missed out on so much and seeing Abigail every day was magical for him.

The little girl was adorable and Iker could spend hours just watching her sleep without feeling bored, she was his miracle and he knew that nothing compared to this feeling.

“I’m happy that you wanted us both here,” Mia said pressing a kiss to his lips, they were curled up on the couch together as Abigail napped; it was peaceful apart and her small snores filled the room.

Iker closed his eyes, he didn’t want his girls anywhere else and he was sure that in the future they would be happy here in Madrid with him.

Iker couldn’t see anywhere else as his home right now and Mia moving to Madrid meant everything to him, he would do anything to make her feel comfortable.

“I can’t believe that it’s only been a year since we first met,” Mia said as she looked up at Iker, the anniversary was coming up and she knew that so much had changed for both of them since the world cup.

Iker nodded his head as he opened his brown eyes and looked down at her, he pressed a kiss to her lips knowing that it had been the best year ever.

Not only had he find Mia and fallen in love with her but he’d become a father for a first time, something that he had never considered happening for another few years.

“The first of many,” Iker promised brushing some hair from her face, he knew that he would happily spend the rest of his life with Mia; there was nothing that he wanted more than to marry the woman before him.

Iker just hoped that there was nothing that could take that away from him especially with Abigail now in the picture, he hated to think of losing his girlfriend and daughter.

The two of them meant so much to him and he hated anyone that tried to come between them, Iker wasn’t sure what he would ever do if he lost his girls. However Iker knew that life without them would never be the same as what he had right now.
