Iker stretched warming down from the first training session, his brown eyes searched the stands without thinking before he stopped Mia talking to some blonde; he sighed as he thought about the last few days, he hadn’t seen much of Mia and he was a little surprised to see her again.
“Okay… we are done for the morning,” Vicente called dismissing the team, he quickly turned to talk with the other couches; he was pleased that everything had gone to plan so far and he knew that the players needed to be eased into playing in such a hot climate.
Iker ran a hand through his sweat soaked hair, he looked up at the benches before he sighed and jogged over to Mia who was preparing to leave for lunch.
“Mia… I was wondering if you wanted to have lunch with me. Just so we can go over what needs to be done this week,” Iker asked making Mia stop and look at him, she nodded her head as her cousin stared at the footballer jealously before he walked away so that he could shower and change out of his training kit.
Mia watched him confused about why he had asked her that, she knew that he had another motive of asking her to lunch; she had told him that morning what was happening that week.
“You are so lucky,” Cassidy gushed looking at her cousin, she was annoyed that Vicente had given her cousin the job that required spending time with the footballers; she had thought that she’d get to spend time with them and that she might walk away with a new boyfriend.

“So what is this really about?” Mia asked walking down the street, she looked at Iker wondering why he had wanted lunch with her; her blue eyes looked at him curiously as she tried to work out what was going on.
Iker sighed looking at Mia, he had wanted to spend time getting to know her better since he barely knew anything about Mia and he was going to be spending a lot of time with her while the tournament was on.
“I wanted to learn more about you,” Iker said shrugging his shoulders as he stuffed his hands into his pockets; he wasn’t used to feeling so unsure about himself, when he had first seen Sara he had known straight away that he had wanted her.
Mia raised an eyebrow at Iker, she had already told him what he needed to know about her when they had first met and she wasn’t sure how much more she could tell him.
“Okay… what do you want to know?” Mia asked as they entered a small café, she looked at him wondering what he wanted to know about her; she wasn’t sure what else she could tell him about herself.
Iker smiled at the brunette before they moved to sit down, he knew that he was probably being stupid but she wasn’t like the other women that he had met before that had thrown themselves at him.
“Why did you move to South Africa?” Iker recalled sitting across from Mia, she smiled at him surprised that he had remembered what she had told him when they first met.
“My dad was a vet back in England and for his honeymoon with my step-mother, we all came here… and never left,” Mia mused a smile filling her face as she thought of what had happened all those years ago; she couldn’t believe how quickly her family had fallen in love with Leopard’s Den, it was their home.
Iker raised an eyebrow at Mia before she slowly started to tell him about what had happened; from the moment they had bought the hotel to losing Sarah to nearly losing their home completely.
“All that in seven years?” Iker mused making Mia nod her head and laugh, she was surprised how quickly it had all happened; it seemed like only yesterday that they had been struggling so much and she was proud that her family had managed to survive.
“What can I say… us Trevanions’ are fighters,” Mia joked smiling at Iker, she knew that he was a little impressed about what had happened to her family; they had been through too much and had survived.

Sara frowned spotting Iker returning to the hotel with some brunette, she watched as the footballer smiled at the other woman; it was clear that there was something going on and she didn’t like it.
Of course, Sara was the one to ask for a break but she wanted to focus on her career more than anything and she didn’t want people thinking of her as just the captain’s girlfriend.
However Sara had never thought that Iker would find anyone else while they were at the tournament; Vicente was strict about that sort of thing and she hoped that Iker wasn’t going to ruin his career for some nobody that was clearly nothing more than a gold-digger.
“Sara… what are you doing here?” Victor Valdes said approaching the reporter, he knew that she was taking a break from her relationship from Iker and was curious about why she at the team hotel when she had no business there.
Sara sighed turning to look at the goalkeeper, she smiled at him softly knowing that he would be able to give her the answers that she wanted.
“I was just in the area and thought I would come and see Iker… but he’s with someone else,” Sara said softly, she looked down pretending to be upset before she heard Victor sigh and stepped closer to her.
Victor wasn’t sure why she cared so much about what her boyfriend was doing when she was the one that insisted on the break.
“That’s Mia… she’s his assistant for the tournament,” Victor said making Sara sigh relieved looking back over at Iker and Mia; she was glad that she didn’t really have any competition for his attention when she wanted him back.
“Gracias,” Sara said gratefully looking at Victor, she kissed his cheek before she brushed her hair over the shoulder and walked towards Iker; she needed to get rid of the other woman as soon as possible.
Sara strutted over to Iker and pulled him into a kiss, she smirked as she saw the look on the brunette’s face before she allowed Iker to pull away.
“Hola amor,” Sara said pressing herself up against Iker, she ignored Vicente’s look of disapproval as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend; he didn’t want her anywhere near his players especially when she was dating the captain.
Iker looked at his girlfriend confused, they were on a break and she was the one that wanted that to take a break not him; she smiled up at him making him realise that she was jealous of Mia.
“I’ll see you later Iker,” Mia said stepping back away from the couple, she could tell what Sara was trying to do and couldn’t help but be amused that the other woman was threatened by her, she had no interest in Iker that way.
Iker watched as Mia left, he felt a little sad that she was just going like that; he didn’t know what it was but he liked spending time with her, she was interesting and he loved hearing about her life in South Africa.
“So shall we get some lunch?” Sara asked smiling up at her boyfriend, knowing that if she wanted to keep him then she had to do something now.
