Iker chuckled as he wrapped his arms around Mia and held her close to him, he ducked his head down and kissed the brunette knowing that he couldn’t stop himself from smiling.

Everyone around him was in high spirits and he knew that the flight back was going to be an interesting one.

“Iker,” Mia murmured pulling back from her boyfriend of three weeks, he hadn’t been able to keep his hands off of her and she knew it was going to take some time to get used to the fact that he had won the world cup.

Iker smiled as he held her close, he knew that she didn’t want to him getting a little too touchy in front of his team-mate; however he couldn’t help himself after what had happened between them that night.

“Te amo,” Iker said brushing his lips against Mia’s, he doubted they would get much rest on their ten and a half hour flight; the entire team was still hyped up from their win.

Mia wrapped her arms around Iker’s neck as they kissed, she couldn’t believe how things were going between them and she knew that this would be happening for a while.

“Jesus Iker… let the poor woman breathe,” Sergio joked walking past his friend, he knew that everyone was in a good mood and he didn’t know anyone who hadn’t been with their spouses after the team had won.

Mia pulled sharply back from Iker and blushed as she looked down, she felt her boyfriend chuckle as he held her close to him; she couldn’t believe that she was acting like a love-struck teenager.

“I think that’s our flight being called,” Mia said stepping back from Iker, she knew if she didn’t put a tiny bit of space between them then they’d probably miss their flight to Madrid.

Mia snorted in amusement as she tried to concentrate on her book, she had a blanket wrapped around her and she had gotten herself comfortable just after take-off; the brunette glanced up as she watched Pepe dancing around the compartment with a couple of the other footballers.

Iker chuckled as watched his team-mates, he was surprised that some of them were still partying after the long night that they had all had; they were all still hyped up from the win.

Iker turned his attention to his girlfriend and grinned as he watched her for a moment, they had not long set off from Johannesburg and they had a long trip ahead of them.

“No,” Mia said without looking at her boyfriend, she knew what he was thinking and she couldn’t believe how much of a child that he truly was.

Mia brushed some her from her face as she continued to read knowing that there was nothing that he could say that would make her join him in one of the airplane toilets.

Iker raised an eyebrow at Mia, he hadn’t said a thing to her but he knew what she was talking about; he hadn’t been able to keep his hands off of her since the end of the match.

“I didn’t say anything,” Iker murmured ducking his head close to hers, he pressed his lips teasingly to her neck knowing that he had never been this happy before.

Mia rolled her eyes as she playfully glared at her boyfriend, she knew that anyone that looked at them wouldn’t be able to guess that Iker was five years older than her.

“You didn’t have to,” Mia replied pressing a kiss to Iker’s lips, she pulled back and turned her attention to her book as she ignored the celebrations around her; she knew they would arrive sometime in the afternoon when they reached Spain.

Iker smiled to himself as he felt Mia cuddled closer as she slept, he didn’t know when she had fallen asleep on the flight but he was happy to wake up with her in his arms while he could.

Iker pulled the blanket carefully over the two of them knowing that there was still a long trip ahead of them, he held Mia close wishing that they were alone right now; he glanced around glad that everyone had settled down for a little.

“You okay?” Sergio asked looking at his friend from across the aisle, he had been reading quietly when he had noticed the look on his friend’s face; he had known Iker for five years now and he had never seen that look before.

Iker nodded his head as he offered a small smile to Sergio before he looked down at Mia, he watched her sleeping peacefully knowing that he was going to have to let her go in a few weeks’ time.

“I love her Sese,” Iker whispered so that he didn’t wake Mia, he didn’t want her to know what he was thinking; his brown eyes looked at her still bandaged wrist knowing that it would be better by the time that she returned to South Africa.

Sergio nodded his head knowing that he didn’t see the problem there, he was glad that Iker had found love in his life especially after all the trouble that he had faced in the past.

“I don’t think I’ll be able to let her go… she goes back to Broederstroom in three weeks,” Iker said knowing that it was what they had agreed to when she had agreed to come with him to Madrid.

Mia knew that Iker would be called up for several friendlies in America and he would fly out to California for two matches at the beginning of August; she had decided that she would fly back home when he left with the team.

Sergio looked at Iker sadly knowing that this wasn’t going to be easy, Mia couldn’t just drop her life in South Africa to come and live with Iker in Spain; it would mean that she would have to leave her entire family behind.

“Iker… you know that she has to go back, you’ve already talked about long distance,” Sergio said softly so that no one would over hear their conversation, he knew his friend wasn’t doubting his relationship with Mia; only his ability to let her go when the time came.

Iker nodded his head as he continued to watch Mia sleep, his heart ached knowing that in three weeks he wouldn’t be able to do this anymore; he couldn’t ask her to stay not when they had only been together for three weeks.

“I can’t lose her Sese, what if she finds someone else?” Iker asked looking at his friend, he knew that it was a long shot but there was a chance that someone could steal her away from him.

Sergio shook his head, he had seen how the couple were when they were together and he doubted that Mia would ever find someone that she loved more than Iker; she was happy and he could see it.

“It won’t happen,” the Sevillian said sure that the couple would survive this, he had seen so many couples fall apart; he didn’t think that Iker and Mia would go that way.

“If you really love her Iker… show her that she won’t ever find anyone else,” Sergio said smiling at his friend, he knew that Iker would be a fool if he allowed Mia to slip through his fingers.

Mia was clearly something special and Iker had never been this happy in the five years that Sergio had known his friend; he could tell that everything would work out in the end.

“Gracias,” Iker said nodding at Sergio knowing that his friend was right, he had to show Mia just how he felt about her and to show her that he was the one for her; he wasn’t going to allow her to return to South Africa without her being sure of his love.

Iker wasn’t sure how he would convince Mia that this was all worth it, but he had to try; he loved her too much not to.
