Betty held the stick in front of her pierce green eyes, seeing the bright pink colour appear on the stick. It was the third test she had taken, and tears were already running down her cheeks.

She was pregnant. With Jug's baby.

Betty's head threw backwards as she cried and cried and cried. For an hour, more tears kept on rolling down when she finally got her stuff together and wiped the tears from her face.

She had to tell Jughead, he should be the first one to know. It was early for their relationship, she knew that, but she was sure he loved her.

Betty threw her pink jacket over her shoulders and ran outside of her house. Her legs ran into the direction of Southside High, almost sure he was there.

The cold wind hit her face as she kept on running, not even pausing to catch her breath.

Once she arrived at the seemingly jail-like school, she stopped. With a few encouraging words in her mind, she went in.

When reaching the cafetaria she saw him, laughing and talking with his Serpent friends. Betty was unsure what to do, especially with his friends around as well. She had to tell him in private.

She went towards him and opened her mouth to speak. "Jug?" She hadn't meant for the word to come out so soft, yet maybe it was the crying that caused it.

Betty played with the tips of her fingers as Jughead turned towards her. "Betty?" His voice was harsh and definetely not like the sweet Jughead she fell in love with. "What the fuck are you doing here?" The words hit her hard, hearing the rudeness in his words.

"Who's the Northsider?" One of Jughead's friends asked with a light snicker, clearly being amused by the situation.

"Oh just someone I hooked up with." The pain that overwhelmed Betty made tears appear behind her eyes. Quickly she tried to blink that away, hoping she had imagined his words.

Yet she didn't, and he was sitting there with a smirk across his jerkish face. Betty took a breather. "But... Jug?" Betty's voice was weak and it sounded like she could break down in tears any time soon.

Jughead chuckled. "But.. Jug?" He mimicked her with a high pitched voice, causing the others to laugh loudly.

Betty stood there, her legs buckling beneath her and her tears almost spilling out of her eyes. She couldn't believe how the Southside had taken such a negative turn on her sweet Jughead.

Jughead and his friends continued to laugh and make jokes about Betty whole she just stood beside them, taking all their hateful words in until she couldn't handle it anymore.

"Stop it!" She shouted. "I'm pregnant Jug, and you're the damn father." With those words tears came crashing down as she ran outside of the building.

She kept on running until her legs gave up and she stopped to sit and breath and cry.

Meanwhile Jughead sat there, in the middle of the cafetaria, his eyes in disbelief and his heart hammering against his chest.

He hadn't meant what he said to Betty, but he couldn't let his fellow Serpents know he was dating a Northsider. However he loved her, and she had just ran off crying with his baby growing in her stomach.

"I'm sorry guys, I gotta go." He excuses himself and started to chase after Betty.

His legs kept on running, first reaching Pop's as she wasn't there. Next up he arrived at her house, yet she also wasn't there.

He even went to both Archie and Veronica, but she wasn't with either of them. Then he stood still, before thinking of one last place.

On a quick pace he got there, and indeed, found her sitting on a rock beside the soft sounds of Sweetwater River.

He sauntered towards her, noticing how tears ran down her cheeks as she had her fists clenched. Within a second he sat beside her and went to uncurl the tight clenched fists.

His hands held hers, making sure to not let her hurt herself. She looked up at him, crying, her eyes angry and upset.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, yet she pushed him away and unlaced their hands.

"Sorry isn't enough." She spat and turned to face the water. He heard how sobs escaped her lips and saw how she curled up into her own knees.

He closed his eyes, knowing he fucked up. However he still stepped towards her again. "I know I was a jerk, I-I just panicked when you came and that blurted out." Betty scoffed, still with her back towards him as he sat back on the rock beside her.

She kept her eyes focused on the moving water. "You're pathetic." She murmured, her voice thick and mad.

Jughead moved another inch closer, their shoulders touching. "Betty, I'm so so sorry. I was a jerk and an ass and you have all the right to be angry with me, but Betty, you're pregnant." His lips curled up into a smile while he spoke.

"I'm so so happy we're going to be parents together, really. And I will give you time to forgive me, as long as you need. But I want to be there for you and our little baby." He sounded promising and honest.

Betty still has her back turned towards him, her lips sealed. "I love you Betty, I really do. And I'll never hurt you like that again, I promise. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, love." The nickname made Betty turn towards him slightly.

She wiped the running tears away from her reddish cheeks and looked at him. They sat there for a couple of minutes, her staring at him while he had no clue whether she was happy or still angry.

Then all of the sudden she threw herself in Jughead's secure arms and sobbed in his chest. "I forgive you." She cried out, clutching his shirt with her fingers. He had instantly wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him, a smile pressing upon his lips.

"I love you, and I love this one right here." He mumbled, his hand placing on her, now still flat, stomach.

She smiled, her head still hidden in his chest as she placed her hand on top of his. "I love you too." She whispered, suddenly feeling loved and safe.

And so they sat there, on a rock besides Sweetwater River, their hands touching and their bodies embracing each other.

He kissed her blonde hairs, pulling it loose from the tightened ponytail and taking his hand through the wavy locks.

He heard how her soft sobs turned into small whimpers which slowly drowned out into long, deep breaths.
