Betty yawned widely as her eyes fluttered open. She found herself cuddled up into Jughead's warm arms.

"Morning." His hoarse voice spoke. Betty smiled weakly and kissed him. "How are you feeling?"

"Bruised." She answered, her fingertips playing with the hem of her boyfriend's shirt. Jughead gave her a sympathetic smile and released her from his embrace.

"Let's make some breakfast." He proposed, getting up from the bed. Betty let out a long breath and nodded, standing up as well.

Hand in hand they stepped into the kitchen, Jughead reaching down to get some plates.

Betty reached for a cabinet a bit higher, trying to take out two glasses. However, the glasses slipped out of her hands and crashed down onto the ground, shattering the glass into pieces.

Jughead looked up at Betty, startled.

Betty's eyes were filled with tears and fright as she tried to hide her face with her hands. She dropped herself to the ground, curling up into her own body while tears ran down her cheeks.

"Please don't hurt me." She begged, her voice barely audible. Jughead quickly put the plates down on the table and rushed over to Betty, his arms twisting around her.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you, alright?" He reassured her while pulling her close into his chest. She nodded, not fully convinced.

"I'm sorry. Just please don't hurt me." She murmured, still not accepting the hug Jughead was giving her. She was hidden in her own body, scared to death.

"I won't hurt you beautiful, I promise. I will keep you safe at all costs." He soothed, pressing his lips gently to Betty's blonde hair. "I'll protect you."

The blonde started softly hiccuping in his chest, her hands finally clenching to his shirt.

"I don't wanna go back." She sobbed. Jughead started trailing kisses down her neck, comforting her.

"And you don't have to, okay?" His voice was sweet, promising. "I'm here with you, always."

Betty violently sobbed her heart out in Jughead's shirt, her hands clutching the material like her life depended on it. She felt like all the emotions that had been bottled up inside her were finally spilling out.

Nothing was held back, all the pain, all the memories, all the bruises, everything came out. "He was so mean Juggie." She whimpered, her voice inaudible, just for Jughead to hear.

"I know baby, I know." Jughead did everything he could to fight back his tears while he held the sobbing Betty in his arms. The pain that was written all over her made Jughead's heart turn around in his stomach.

After hours of heartbreaking sobs on the ground, Betty cried herself to sleep in Jughead's arms. He lifted her up and carried her to his bedroom, gently placing her down under the warm blankets. "Sleep tight princess, you deserve it." He whispered, pressing a sweet kiss to her forehead before leaving her alone to sleep.

Betty rushed into the living room, finding Jughead watching some TV on the couch. He looked up at her by the sound of her footsteps.

Tears were dragging down Betty's cheeks and panic was evident in her eyes. "Betts? Hey, what's wrong?" He asked, hurrying over to her and trying to wrap his arms around her.

She smacked his hands away, fear all over her face. "No, don't—don't touch me!" Betty screamed, backing further away from Jughead's desperate touch. Her eyes were wild, her breathing fast and shallow, her whole body trembling in uncontrollable fear.
