She cried.

slap.

She yelled out.

slap.

She sobbed.

kick.

She was numb. Numb to the pain. She took every hit, every slap, every kick. Her tears stopped falling, her mouth stopped screaming. She just looked up at her father with the most desperate eyes.

It could've been minutes, it could've been hours, she didn't know when, but it finally came to an end. Her body was curled up into herself in the deepest corner of her bedroom.

Hesitantly Betty opened her eyes, terrified to see her father ready to hit her again. To her relief the room was empty and quiet, only filled with sobs that started escaping her lips again.

15. She counted in her head. The fifteenth time her father had hit her this week. Never had it been as bad as this one.

She was unable to move, her muscles wouldn't work along. Her face was rimmed with tears and cuts, her legs filled with bruises and her stomach was internally dying. Blood was spread over her clothes, staining everything.

Oblivious of what else to do, Betty's shaking hand reached for her phone, only to find the screen completely crushed. As she prayed for it to still work, she tried to open her phone.

Luckily it opened, and Betty's fingers rushed to dial the only number she wanted to call.

"Betty?" The voice on the other end sounded.

Betty tried to muffle her sobs as she spoke. "Jug.. c-can you please m-meet me outside m-my house?" She stammered, breaking down in a mess of tears after.

Jughead felt his blood freeze and his eyes run wild. "Betts? What's wrong?"

"Just come. Please." Betty pleaded before she ended the call. She threw the phone away from her.

With all her powers she tried to prop herself up on her feet, feeling as every part of her body was in excruciating pain.

Cautiously she climbed down the ladder beside her window, surprised to find Jughead already standing beneath her, his eyes worried. He quickly helped her down, gasping at the blood that was staining her body.

"Who the fúck did this to you!?" Jughead yelled, immediately followed by Betty shushing him.

"Please just be quiet, and take me to your place." She begged, her voice on the edge of tears.

Jughead obliged unwillingly and lifted the delicate girl in his arms. He carried her to his car, gently placing her inside.

Once they got on the road, Jughead started speaking again. "Betty, you are not fine and you're telling me right now what on earth is happening!" He demanded, his eyes fuming.

Betty breathed in sharply. "My dad. He hits me." Betty admitted, closing her eyes in fear of her boyfriend's reaction.

"Why didn't you tell me!? We could have prevented this!" He was upset, upset she didn't tell him.

"I-I'm s-sorry." She stuttered, her throat tightening. Jughead pulled the car over to the side of the road when he noticed Betty started gasping for air.

"Hey, hey, calm down. Deep breaths, remember?" Jughead spoke, all his anger turning into worry. He grabbed her hand, placing it on his chest. "Follow my breathing."

After a few inhales and exhales, Betty managed to stabilize herself.

"I shouldn't have called you." She then trembled out while trying to open the door and leave the car.

Jughead quickly firmed his grip around her wrist and pulled her back. She flinched in pain, causing Jughead to instantly let go, fright in his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry." He's the one stammering this time. "But please Betty, don't go. You need someone right now, and it would kill me if I knew you were in pain and you wouldn't let me help." Cautiously he lifted her and placed her gently on his lap in his car-seat.

Betty let out a soft whimper and a light sob as she hid her head in the collar of his shirt. "No, don't cry love. I hate it when you cry." He pleaded, his thumb moving to wipe the tears from her face.

"Betts, you're drained in blood. Let's get you to my place and I'll patch you up." Jughead offered, only receiving a light nod from the fragile girl in his arms.

Slowly he moved forward to place her back in her seat, painful whimpers escaping Betty's lips every time she moved. "I know it hurts, I promise it'll be over soon." He comforted her while quickly starting the car again.

Within a few minutes they arrived at his trailer, and Jughead carried the blonde inside.

He gently laid her down on his bed, rushing to the bathroom to get all the supplements he would need. He got back to her, finding her staring at him with big doe-eyes.

"I'm okay." She said when Jughead started to examine her wounds.

"Stop telling me you're okay. Look at this Betty, this is extreme abuse." Jughead stated, his fingers brushing over a deep cut on the side of her face.

Slowly he helped her out of her clothes, showing more and more bruises by every layer of cloth that came off. Jughead gasped in disbelief when he saw how manhandled her body was.

"Why did you try to deal with this yourself Betts? This is serious." He tried to resist himself from screaming at her. Not because he was mad, but because he couldn't stand the fact that she was hurt and he didn't know about it earlier.

"I was afraid. Afraid my father would come after me." Betty admitted, her eyes desperate for the pain to heal. The two of them were silent for a while.

"Bite in this, it's going to hurt." Jughead then warned her, handing her a fluffy pink pillow. Betty nodded and mentally prepared herself for the pain that was coming.

Carefully Jughead poured some alcohol on the fresh cuts, receiving a loud, heart wrenching scream from Betty. "I'm sorry beautiful, it'll be over soon." He tried to talk her through it, but felt the tears well up behind his own eyes as well now.

The girl he loved most was in horrible pain right now and he couldn't help her.

Slowly the pain drained out, and Betty let out a breath of relief.

Jughead then started to gently wrap up the wounds and bruises with bandages.

"And.. you're done." Jughead said, giving her a soft smile.

"How bad does it look?" Betty asked, her lips in a sided frown.

"It looks like you've been attacked pretty badly. No blood anymore though." Jughead carefully explained, planting a kiss on her forehead.

"You should've told me earlier," He demanded, moving to lay beside his girlfriend on the bed, "I could've helped you."

"It just went so quickly Jug, I didn't have the time to react." Jughead let out a deep, long breath.

He turned to face her, his arms embracing her body, her head snuggling in his chest. "How long has it been since you slept?" He then asked, having seen the huge bags under her eyes.

"Uh.. like.. yesterday?" Jughead shook his head softly.

"Be honest." He demanded, his lips connecting with her hair. She kept her head on the steady beat of his heart.

"Five days." She whispered under her breath, clutching Jughead's shirt in her delicate hands.

"Close your eyes." He mumbled, his hands holding the back of her head.

She did as he asked, closing her eyes while laying on the rhythm of his heart. Cautiously Jughead pulled the warm sheets over them.

He started softly humming a song in Betty's ear. Her painful whimpers turned into quick breaths, and her quick breaths turned into long ones.

"I love you." Jughead whispered, feeling as a smile curled up on Betty's lips.
