Betty knocked impatiently on the door of her best friend's house. Her teeth were chattering, her hands were shaking violently, her body was ice cold.

She had been wandering through Riverdale for the past couple of days now, not wanting to go back to her mom. She hadn't slept in three days, she hadn't come to school, she had just been sitting in some random place in the woods and freezing herself to death.

She knew the entire town was searching for her, the entire town except her mom. Her mom who was being too caught up with the farm and didn't even know her daughter had gone missing for three days already.

But now she was here, in desperate need for a shelter and food, and only able to trust her best friend who had been worried sick about her.

With a few curse words and stumbles, the door got opened. "Betty..!" He gasped, his eyes wide of disbelief.

"Juggie, I-I need you." She mumbled, her voice clammy and shaky.

Jughead stared at Betty in shock, until he noticed her clattering teeth, pale face and purple lips.

"Shit, you're freezing, let's get you warmed up, alright?" He quickly spoke, pulling her into his trailer and pressing her body close against him.

Betty started crying, sobbing into Jughead's shirt. "Shh, I've got you, I've got you." He whispered, guiding the two of them to the couch.

Slowly he laid Betty down on top of it, quickly running to his bedroom to gather some blankets for her. He came back to find Betty curled up in herself on the couch, a stream of tears running down her cheeks as she looked at him.

Jughead hurried over to her, carefully tucking the blankets around her body while calmly stroking her blonde hairs.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled, cuddling in the sheets.

"No, no—don't be, come here." He assured her, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. She felt his warmth radiate to her body.

"Do you want to tell me where you've been?" Jughead hesitantly asked, not wanting to scare her away.

He couldn't lose her again, not after he just got her back.

Betty nodded softly, lifting he sheets in a motion for Jughead to lay next to her.

Jughead crawled under them and twisted his arms around Betty, kissing her forehead in comfort. "I didn't want to be home anymore. I couldn't handle my mom with her farm stuff anymore, I was done. So one night, I packed a bag and simply just took off."

Jughead carefully wiped the tears that were running down her bare cheeks. "I haven't slept, I haven't eaten, I'm exhausted Juggie. I didn't know where else to go, you're the only one I can trust." Jughead breathed out a long breath, soothing his hand through Betty's blonde locks.

"I promise you, you can stay with me as long as you want." He said, smiling half-heartedly, "Let me get you something to eat." He slipped away from underneath the blankets and rushed to the kitchen.

Whilst he was busy making some food for Betty, he heard loud sobs come from the living room once again. Quickly he made his way back to the beautiful blonde, only to find her sobbing and sniffling into the blanket she was wrapped in. "Hey, hey, what's wrong?" He asked, kneeling down beside the couch. His hand found hers, lacing their fingers.

"N-nothing, I-I'm just s-scared." She stammered, her voice breaking by every word she spoke.

"Why?" Jughead carefully asked, his eyes staring intently into hers.
