He felt hopeless, almost lifeless as he sat in the waiting area. As lifeless as her body had felt in his arms only a few hours prior.

"It's just a bug, it'll go away."

She had said, holding her tummy in pain while she groaned. Cole didn't think much of it, not because he didn't care, but because Lili got sick more often and it would simply go away in a day or two.

Though when it didn't seem to disappear in a week time, and Lili seemed in more and more pain, Cole felt concerned.

He held her in his arms while she cried from pain. He kissed her temple while she let out soft yelps. He let her soak his shirt with her tears while rubbing her back in comfort.

Cole was worried crazy, but Lili didn't take any of it. She went to set every day, did every scene she had to, and then got home, crumbling on the couch and dropped all her walls.

She'd cried through the night, her hands putting much pressure on her stomach, trying to ease the pain.

"We need to see a doctor Lil." Cole had insisted one night when the pain had been extremely bad. She had tossed and turned in his arms, had screamed and cried from the pain.

"N-no, I-I'll be fine." She had mumbled, barely breathing from the stinging pain. Her eyes had then shot wide open, an extremely loud scream escaping her lips.

"I-It e-exploded." She had whispered, her eyelids falling closed by the second.

Cole had taken her to the hospital immediately, desperately yelling for her to stay awake. When they got to the hospital she was still up, but you could barely call it awake.

Doctors had ran towards her, shoved her on a stretcher and drove her away into the long white hallways.

Now Cole was here, his hair in his hands, tears dripping down his cheeks. He had called only Kj, asking him to inform the rest of the cast, barely able to speak.

He cried as he sat waiting alone, every five minutes hurrying to the desk to check with the receptionist for any information. Unfortunately she had nothing.

He heard footsteps and familiar voice enter the room, but couldn't look up from the floor. "Cole! Any news?" Kj came up to him, his voice filled with worry. Cole slowly lifted his head to find Kj in front of him, the rest of the cast behind.

The girls were softly crying, Camila seeming most upset. Casey and Mark were trying to soothe them, but it didn't work.

"No, nothing. I've been sitting here for hours and she's been in that fucking room, all alone!" His voice was thick from the tears and upset from his feelings.

"She's strong man, she'll be okay." Kj encourages, settling down in a seat next to him. The rest of the cast followed, all taking their chairs.

"You don't understand. It's my fault. I should've brought her here earlier, she had been in pain for weeks!"

"Calm down Cole, let's wait put on any information from the doctors before we conclude things." Mädchen said from one side of the waiting area.

"Family of Miss Reinhart." Everyone shot up from their seats by the sound of a doctor.

"H-her parents are on their way, but I'm her fiancée." Cole stammered, standing in front of the doctor.

"Well, miss Reinhart had an aortic aneurysm, but it ruptured just before you brought her in. It caused serious damage, lots and lots of blood loss, and there's a chance it can be fatal." He explained, Cole feeling his heart stop in his chest and his blood freeze cold.

"D-death?" He stumbled, tears silently dragging down his face. He heard loud sobs come from behind him but couldn't
make out who it was.

"It's not certain sir, the doctors are doing the best they can right now to get her steady heartbeat back, but we don't know what's going to happen." Cole didn't know what he wanted to do, either scream or cry or rage or stay silent.

But slowly he felt his entire world fade in front of his eyes, his vision getting blurry from tears. He felt two arms holding him up straight, and then the world turned black.

"Where is she? Is she alive?" Cole sputtered out the questions when he awoke.

He practically jumped up from the bed, trying to rush out of his room. Kj and Charles held him back, settling him back on the bed.

"Calm down bro." Kj insisted, his eyes upset. "Lili is stable."

Stable.

A word so small, yet so full.

"Can I see her? Is she awake?"

"Visitors are allowed, but one at a time. Camila is in there now." Charles told him, helping him up from the bed. "You need to calm, you passed out."

"I-I need to see her." Cole demanded, wrestling out of Kj and Charles' grip. He hurried out the door, towards Lili's.

She laid there, completely still, Camila crying by her bedside.

The machine that was attached to her body was beeping on a steady rhythm, showing her heartbeat. "Oh god.." Cole whimpered, very slowly stepping inside the room.

Camila whipped her head around to look at Cole, her eyes red and puffy. "She's doing good. The surgery went well according to the doctors."

He smiled very weakly, rushing over to sit beside Camila, his hand touching Lili's.

"I just feel like it's my fault." He mumbled, resting his head on Lili's legs.

Camila pressed her lips together, and wrapped her arms around the crying man.

"I'll leave you alone. Be careful with her." The raven haired whispered, standing up and leaving the room.

Cole stared at the girl in front of him, tears jumping from his eyes. "Wake up darling, please wake up. I miss you so much."

He placed his head on her heart, listening as it thumped against her chest.

"Hi." And that was her voice, soft and sweet.

"Lil, honey!" He looked up at her. His hands grabbed her cheeks, needing to feel her, feel the reality.

"I'm here." She kissed him gently, pressing her plump lips against his. "I love you."

"You're alive." He breathed in relief.

this seems very unfinished, mostly because it's just a draft I had sitting for a long long time.
been rewatching Gilmore Girls again and I keep falling in love. anyone want a lorelai/luke one shot cuz I've got enough??
