rosey was always sweet and kind. she was dubbed the 'nation's sweetheart' because of how frequently she went viral for such sweet everyday moments.
she would strike up small conversation with fans in public to alleviate her social anxiety. she would express her concerns and worries about her industry colleuges, among other things.
she kept to herself most of the time, but when she was adamant about something, she made it known.
"have you guys been out here for a while?" rosey asked, her hands overlapping as she gripped the microphone tightly.
"yes!" the fans yelled back to the idol.
rosey has seen a lot of passed out fans in her short time as an active idol and none of them have been pleasant. she attempted to ask the fans in front of the stage to take a few steps back for their own safety, but no one listened.
"people may get hurt; could we please move back?" rosey asked politely, motioning with her hands for the crowd to move backwards.
her voice seemed to vanish in the midst of the crowd. her hands fell to her sides as she was ignored.
it was a scorching day in seoul. the start of summer was approaching, but the hot weather arrived this month.
with the weather app predicting a cloudy and slightly chilly day just hours before, the sudden change in weather caught almost everyone off guard. rosey noticed that the vast majority of their fans were dressed in long-sleeved shirts and hoodies.
rosey walked slowly to the steps leading off the platform, where the rest of her members remained. in hushed tones, she requested waters for the fans from the staff. the staff pointed to a cooler containing plenty of cold water.
"have we not been giving these out?" rosey asked, surprised by the actions of the staff.
the man she was speaking with shook his head, holding it low in self-disgust.
rosey put down her microphone, opened the cooler, and grabbed as many bottles of water as she could. she started passing them out to the fans she could reach in the hopes that they would pass them on to thirsty fans behind them.
rosey became overwhelmed by the screams and hands reaching for her, but she learned to stay calm with simple breathing exercises.
"you should remove your jacket!" rosey spoke up to one of the fans in the crowd.
the boy gave the idol a thumbs up and hesitantly removed his jacket. minho stood on the platform watching and quickly joined the girl to assist her on her mission.
minho started passing out bottles while remaining close to the younger girl. he was concerned that she would be grabbed by a fan who got too close to the idol. members on the platform continued to ask the crowd to stop pushing and take a few steps back, to which the crowd began to listen.
minho and rosey finished the last few bottles of water and the boy turned rosey towards the platform. he rushed her away from the crowd and patted her head, telling her she did a wonderful thing.
as the chaos subsided, the group was able to proceed with their words of thanks and long-awaited performance.
