"Oh really?" Harry asked. "Tell me more."
Sam looked about ready to wipe off the smirk that now adorned Hades' face.
Hades grinned, clapping his hands together, his eyes glittering with amusement.
"Oh so she didn't tell you?" Hades asked, innocently, even though he knew the answer.
"I don't think they would've asked if they did know dad." Helios said. "You really like putting people against each other. Don't you?"
"I do." Hades said. "It's rather entertaining. Watching you mortals squabble."
"Sam." Helios said. "He didn't mean to say that okay? Did your eyes always look like that?"
Helios was in fact right. Sam's usual brown eyes were a solid gold, which only ever happened when she was angry. HJ didn't need to explain why.
"He's right Sam." HJ said. "I'm sure you would've told us eventually right? Take a deep breath. Count to ten."
Sam blinked, her eyes flickering back to brown, her glare still set on Hades who seemed just as unfazed as she had been moments before.
"Right?" Gil asked. Sam looked at her boots, not wanting to meet their gazes.
"You weren't going to tell us were you Sassy?" Harry asked softly.
Sam looked up, running her fingers through her hair, before twisting her ring over and over her finger.
"I mean I was going to." Sam said, finding the words she was trying to say. "I was."
"When?" Harry asked. "The day you were leaving?"
Sam pursed her lips together.
"My work here is done." Hades said, disappearing a puff of smoke. Helios rolled his eyes, grumbling as he entered the shop.
"You know the day of Cotillion didn't you?" HJ asked. "That was what that paper was."
"You saw that?" Sam asked.
"You're not confirming nor denying it." Harry said, pushing a strand of her hair away from her face, his hand resting there. "You could've told me. We wouldn't have been mad. That's what you were thinking wasn't it?"
Sam tilted her head to the side.
"Sam." HJ said. "We wouldn't have been mad at you. Why would we be mad? You deserve it Sam."
"I-I can't just leave you." Sam said. "I can't."
"But you should." HJ said. "Sam were not going to stop you. We want what's best for you."
"Yes you should." Harry said, taking both of Sam's hands in his. "You can't stay here. I don't want to stop you from doing what makes you happy. I want the baby to have a better life than this."
"You make me happy." Sam said. "I can't-."
"You have to." Harry said. "I love you Sam. I'm not stopping you from doing what you want. You need to go. You are going to go."
"We want you to go." Gil said. "We're not going to hate you because of it."
"Are you sure?" Sam said. "Because I've been stalling for three months now. I can stall longer."
"You've been stalling this whole time?" HJ asked. "Wait. Did she tell you could come when she came here? And you didn't go? Sam."
"It's okay." Gil said. "We understand why you did it. But we want you to go now. And uh I have to go right now. So I'll catch you later okay?"
Gil jogged down the road, as the watched him disappear, Harry placed his hand over Sam's stomach, interlacing his fingers with her left hand, rubbing the ring on her middle finger.
"We're going to see each other again." Harry said. "I promise. And we're going to be happy. I want you to be happy."
"Harry-." Sam said as he pressed his fingers to her lips.
"No." Harry said. "You're going Sam. I want you to go there. I don't want the baby to grow up here. You need to go for her okay?"
"But I need you." Sam said. "I can't do this alone Har."
"You're not going to." Harry said. "I'll get to you I promise. Maybe you can convince Beasty Boy to bring me there. But until then, I'll be waiting for you. And you'll be waiting for me. This ain't the end Sam. It's only the beginning,"
"Yeah Sam." HJ said. "You're going to love it there. You won't be away from us long. You can make those dresses that you make Heather and Helia model for you. You can do what you always dreamed about. Remember? How we used to make up things we'd do when we went to Auradon. Now you can do it."
"So you want me to go?" Sam asked.
"That's exactly what we're saying." Harry said. "So when are you leaving?"
"Today." Sam said. "At noon."
"You are an absolute procrastinator." HJ said. "Okay so you go and say goodbye to everyone in that twenty minutes and we'll try to make you not cry more than you have to. And we'll try not to cry as much either."
"Hector James Barbossa." Heather said as she caught up to where they were standing. "I've been looking for you everywhere."
"Well I'm right here." HJ said with a shrug.
"I see that." Heather said as she looked closer at their faces. "Uh why do you all look like you've been crying or you're about to cry?"
"Because we were." HJ said. "Sam's leaving."
"Oh damn." Heather said. "I'm gonna miss you Sam. Why does the king of fucking Auradon keep taking my friends away from me?"
"Good question." HJ said. "That I don't know the answer to. Why were you looking for me Heather?"
"Because dad would like to see us." Heather said as HJ frowned. "I know. I felt the same way. But I kind of kept him waiting long enough and I want to get it over with so... let's go."
"Why does he want to see us?" HJ said as Heather dragged him along. "Bye Sam."
"Bye Hecky." Sam said as HJ rolled his eyes at the nickname Sam and his sister had adopted for him.
"Believe me Hecky if I knew I'd tell you." Heather said. "But I don't. So let's go."
"I'm going. I'm going." HJ said as they made their way to the docks where their fathers ship loomed over the pier.
