Heather's mind was watching herself as she slept. It was rather odd. She was seeing herself laying asleep in Helios' arms, the chaos around her. The villains had fled upon seeing Helios' fire, only her mother and aunts remained.
She didn't like watching herself. It made her feel helpless. She knew she had to wake up but she didn't know if she could. She didn't know what would happen when she awoke. She knew she shouldn't have trusted her mother.
Then her dream was taken ahold by someone else's. She was seeing what someone else was seeing and she was rather confused. She didn't know who she was seeing through at the moment. She didn't know where she was but she knew she wasn't home. This wasn't the Isle anymore.
Heather! A voice filled her mind. Oh I didn't know if this would work!
Heather knew that voice be just had to place it. She couldn't place it.
'It's me Maddie!' The voice of Maddie said through her mind. 'Quinn said to dream and see if I could see your dreams. I dreamed you were asleep so I tried to connect our dreams and it worked!'
Heather wondered if Maddie had always talked this much or if it was just now. Or maybe she didn't much about her. She'd only seen her captured and escape. She never had a deep conversation with her. She couldn't remember having a willing conversation with her. She had been forced to talk to her by Quinn and that was it. Why would she want to help her after all she had done.
'Come on'. Maddie said in Heather's mind. 'You have to wake up. You can do it!'
'I don't know if I can.' Heather thought back. I don't know how. I want to wake up but whatever she did won't let me.
'Sleep inducing tea.' Maddie thought to her. 'My mom has that. It wears off quickly though. How many cups did you drink?'
'One.' Heather thought. 'I fell asleep and so did Harry. But I don't know why Chelsea and Helios didn't.'
'I don't either.' Maddie said. 'But i know you'll get out of this. You're Heather fucking Barbossa. Nothing can get in your way. Forget that bitch. Don't let what your mom says get to your head.'
'Did Quinn tell you to say that?' Heather asked as Maddie replied.
'She did.' Maddie thought back. 'Don't make me say it again.'
'I would never.' Heather replied. 'Quinn's great at motivating.'
'Think positive thoughts. Happy thoughts.' Maddie replied. 'Gosh I sound like Pandora. But you got this Heather. Think positive things and you'll get out of this.'
'Positive thoughts.' Heather pondered. 'Well my brother's amazing. He's my everything. My best friend. I miss him.'
'Keep going.' Maddie encouraged.
'And there's Sam.' Heather said. 'She's brilliant. She's my best friend. She's always there for me. She had my back. She does everything she can to make sure I'm happy even if she isn't. She's great like that.'
'Keep going.' Maddie replied.
'There's Helia.' Heather said. 'She's like my older sister. She taught me everything I know. She's the one who raised me. She won't admit it but she loves me. She is everything to me. I love her. She's my protector and I want to protect her.'
'Almost there.' Maddie encouraged. 'You got this.'
Heather thought long and hard as she continued.
'There's Helios.' Heather said. 'We used to be a thing when we were younger but we're over that. He's like my brother. He's always there when I need him to be. He's always had my back. He's a great friend and has a great heart.'
'Alright.' Maddie replied. 'I'm going to try to connect someone else with our dream.'
Heather waited dutifully, clearing her mind of negative thoughts. She smiled to herself, thinking of how she was going to get out of this. She could do it. Maddie had her back even though she barely knew her.
'Keep going.' Maddie instructed.
'There's Hanna.' Heather said. 'She's like my best friend. Even if she isn't here I know she still thinks of me. She's my friend. Through thick and thin. I guess we'll get past this now.'
'Okay.' Maddie replied. 'I've almost got someone. Keep going.'
'There's Gil.' Heather thought. 'He isn't the brightest light bulb but he sure is the kindest. He's been one of my older friends and he's always willing to listen to me.'
'Keep going.' Maddie urged.
'There's Chelsea.' Heather thought. 'She's a pretty great friend. She's a bit out there but a lot of my friends are. She's always there for me even when I don't want her to be and I appreciate that. She's amazing and awesome and deserves the world.'
.
'Got two connections.' Maddie replied. 'You're doing great Heather.''There's Harry.' Heather said. 'He's super annoying in a good way. He's an okay friend. And he remembers things I don't. He makes sure I'm okay without making seem like he cares. But I know he does.'
'I do not.' Harry replied as Maddie seemed to regret her connection choice, though she hadn't had a choice.
'Yes you do.' Heather said. 'You have a heart somewhere in there.'
'What about Quinn?' Maddie interrupted.
'Quinn's a great friend.' Heather said. 'She always looked out for me and I looked out for her. She always cared about me and I care about her. I forgive her. I forgive all of them.'
'Thanks.' Quinn replied. Heather hadn't known she'd been listening. Apparently she'd been the second connection. 'But you two need to wake up.'
'We know.' Heather and Harry thought at the same time.
'We're never doing that again.' Heather thought.
'Agreed.' Harry replied.
'Come on guys focus.' Maddie chastised. 'You have to be thinking about waking up or else you won't.'
'I'm thinking. I'm thinking.' Heather thought, shutting her eyes tightly.
Wake up. Wake up. Wake up.
Her thoughts were soon growing distant as she began to awaken, her voice melding with that of Helios who was shaking her.
"Heather!" Chelsea exclaimed. "You're awake! Yay to you too Harry."
"I feel so appreciated." Harry replied sarcastically.
Heather sent a quick thank you to Maddie and Quinn, hoping they got the message.
