I wasn't one of those weird kids that sit in the corner and rock once a small problem comes up. I have friends, I look the part of 'normal'. I can act the part too with my friends, just not with strangers. I can get to know people, it just takes a while and most people aren't that patient. Including my previous therapist, they usually would drop me by the 4th visit. Keith was a bit more open and inviting though, he took a entirely new direction.

"Girl, what're you thinking about? You've been missing out on the conversation for 15 minutes."
"Sorry Cas. I got a new therapist and he's strange like in a good way."
"Another one Sky? I'm telling you they're robbing your mom."

I laughed a bit before speaking again.

"If this one doesn't work out I won't get another one, that obviously shows that I'm unhelp-able."
"It just shows that people didn't earn their degrees in therapy. They printed them out and lied on their resumé."

We shared a well needed laugh before finishing our lunch. The last period of the day was the Counselor's office, I was praying she wasn't here so I could go home early. I drug myself into her office then took a seat. She smiled before she began talking.

"How are you today Sky?"

I only stared at her then looked around the room. It was clear that I had an attitude. I did not enjoy this ladies company.

"Silent again today? Well I guess I'll just talk to you..."

As she began talking I kept scrolling through my apps as if all my friends weren't at school.

"I should've saved it." I mumbled quietly  to myself

I regretted tossing Keith's number. I could've been getting help right now. After 50 minutes of listening to her speak I scrambled out of the office as soon as the bell rung.

Mom was waiting for me in the parking lot.

"We're eating out tonight. Sizzler?"

I nodded.

"How was school?"
"How was work?"
"Touché"

We laughed.

"School was actually okay today. Cas and I kept each other company for the most part. It was bearable."
"Glad to hear. Did you call Keith today or anytime lastnight?"
"No. I thought you'd forget."
"Don't worry about it honey. It's fine."

I think she found his number in my bin but he's a new face. I still froze around him, what makes her think I can handle the responsibility of reaching out to a stranger.

After those thoughts my entire mood was dampened. Once home I waved to dad then retreated to my room. I wanted a nap.

"I'm not going to dinner with you guys." I yelled from behind my closed door

I rambled through my chest of drawers to find comfortable pajamas. The house would be mine tonight so I'm not just confined to my bedroom. I found a short flowy v-neck olive romper to wear then I flopped in my bed. The mattress was hugging my body and the pillow was caressing my face, within 10 minutes I was sleep.

I woke up with my backpack still on my shoulders and my shoes still on my feet. I laughed at how tired I was before rising from the bed. There was a sticky note on my mirror that read:

I ordered your favorite pizza, it should be here around 8. Don't wait up!
      - Mom

I smiled at the note and checked the time. 7:28.  I dropped my clothes from my body and started the shower.

Once out the shower and dressed for the night it was almost 8. I oiled my body up with a shimmering body butter and let my hair down from its ponytail.

The pizza guy always has instructions to leave the pizza on the doorstep and my mom always pays with her card so I don't have to speak, the pizza should be here.
It was 8:10 when I sashayed down the stairs to the door.

I swung the door open expected just my pizza and Keith was standing there with a pizza box in hand.
