I walked closely behind Keith to his sleek silver Audi. He slid my door open as he walked to his side of the car. I held my backpack in my lap very close to me. This was strange and I wasn't 100% comfortable.
I'm sure Keith noticed because he turned the radio down slightly and spoke.

"It's okay to be nervous but today will be fun."

I nodded and squeezed my backpack closer to my body. I kept wiggling my fingers scared that I'll freeze.

"I noticed that you wiggling your fingers a lot. Why is that?"
"To make sure my body hasn't froze yet."
"Try a stress ball. You can feel it squish in your hand so you can focus on it, instead of the other people.  It'll help you speak to people and freeze slower or less often."
"Where do you get those from?"
"Your therapist."

He laughed and turned into the driveway of a midsize house.

"This isn't the pier."
"Relax, I'm not kidnapping you. I need to change from this suit and get you your stress ball. Your welcome to stay in the car."

I nodded then unbuckled my seat belt.

"Good choice. It's 90 plus degrees out here."

I giggled slightly before throwing my backpack on my shoulders and following him into the house. A huge dog sat on the couch making me freeze up out of fear.

"Don't be scared. Lassie is like 300 years old. She's my childhood dog."
"Lassie?"
"I know it's cliché. That shows you the kind of kid I was."

We laughed until we reached the stairs. He started to walk up them but I stayed at the first step.

"I'm going to stay down here."
"Why?"

He asked as I was walking away to the living room. Although I heard him I decided not to answer. I don't think he was trying to make a pass on me but if he was I wasn't going to allow it.

I took an awkward seat next to Lassie. She was originally black I could tell that much but she gained gray hairs and slightly yellowed eyes. She stared at me before stretching and going down onto the floor. She scratched for a second then climbed back on the couch this time laying her head on my lap.

"Oh you're just a big teddy bear aren't you?"

I gushed with a huge smile then started to massage her through her fur. I had to be petting her for at least 20 minutes because by the time Keith had made it back downstairs Lassie was sleep and I was on the way.

"You want to sleep? I don't have a guess Room but my bed is open."
"No. I'm fine. Ready to hit the pier?"
"Actually, by the time we got there and got to have fun I'd have to bring you home. I have a pool."
"I don't have a bathing suit."
"You could wear a t-shirt and trunks."
"Or we could finish our board game."
"No, I don't want get kicked out this time. GTA?"

We laughed for a bit before I spoke.

"Restroom?"

He showed me to the restroom. I need a breath to gather my thoughts and keep myself calm. I took a few pictures with a big smile on my face. I couldn't say I wasn't happy right now. The mood was light. I returned to a focused Keith before speaking again.

"All I know how to do it drive and shoot really."

He laughed then shook his head in disappointment.

"That's every girl but, I'll teach you the rest of the game. Missions and what not."

After an hour of Keith talking I fell asleep on his soft living room rug. I could still here him going for maybe a minute more before he stopped.

"You could've slept in my bed. I would've left you alone." He laughed before trying to lift me from the ground

"Leave me."
"You don't want to be more comfortable?"
" I am."
"In my arms?"
"On the floor."

He laid me down on the couch and sat in the sofa chair to finish his game. I think it's time that I go. I can't help but feel like my therapist has a crush on me.

"Keith, I think it's time I head home."
