"Right this way ma'am."

I was in route to a job interview for a traveling secretary; someone to keep track of meetings, interviews, and important dates, shit like that. I was a pretty organized person so I figured I'd attend the interview. There were clear instructions to dress business causal but I dressed how I would on the job, hopefully that works in my favor.

After waiting for our an hour I was escorted down a hallway into a small room with a couch on one side and a desk on the other. It looked like an office you would see a therapist in.

"Afta' noon. Sorry fa the wait."

I pulled up a chair at the desk instead of sitting far away at the couch.

"Afternoon, and no problem. The wait was expected."

I had been looking through the folder holding my resumè for a second before I looked up at the person who was speaking to me. August Alsina.

He stared at me staring at him for a second before I spoke.

"Are we going to start?"

"I was waiting for you to get ya jitters out."

"What jitters? I'm not starstruck, I'm fine."
I raised my eyebrow at him before laughing
"You got your jitters out?"

He staled faced me and ignored my question.

"You ain't dress the part. Why is that?"

"I figured you want to see the real person that's going to be around you all the time."

"Confident ain't cha?"

"Qualified."

I took my resumè from the folder before placing it in his hand. He looked over it briefly before closing it.

"How old are you?"

"21."

"What sets you apart from the competition?"

I sat back in my seat and folded my hands in my lap. He was doing the same, his glasses sat on his face snugly  and he had a plain facial expression. None of which bothered me.

"I don't care about who you are. I'm here to do a job, that's it."

"That's it? I find that hard to believe."

"Maybe you're too confident for your own good. Everybody don't want you. Some of us are normal." I shrugged and eyed him just as he was doing me

"Normal? You walked in hea' in Jordan's and stretch pants. How is that normal?"

"You're in a well lit room with shades on your face. How is that normal?"

I know I was being unprofessional but that is the tone he created. He had seen a ton of other applicants so he was probably exhausted but that's still not excuse to be a dick, and I had a slick mouth so if he had time then so did I.

"You expect to get a job talking like that to ya boss?"

"You must want to be surrounded by kiss asses. And if you spoke to me kindly you would've gotten the same respect, but you didn't." I collected my resumè from his side of the desk preparing to leave, this whole interview was a bust

"Whea' you going?"

"Home. There is no job here for me, I'm not kissing anyone's ass."

"Who said you had to do all that?"

At this point he had stood up and made his way over to the chair I previously occupied.

"August, is there a job for me here or not?"

I could see his eyebrows furrow at the mention of his name and the tone of my voice. I was serious.

"Yea'. You got the job. I like ya spunk, anyone around me gone need that."

"Thank you." I opened the door preparing to leave but was stopped again

"Where ya' going? You on the clock."
