After troye's time with jacob troye practically sprinted to get back to the castle. He decided to not take a carriage to town and the one time he doesn't his uncle decides to come back from Spain.

Troye had made it in just enough time to the ship fully come onto shore. He received a few odd looks from the common people that were standing away from the royals but still waiting to welcome the Regent and King James. For as long as Troye knew whenever a royal returned they were welcomed by court and the common people.

"Where were you?" Alexandria said through teeth as smiled and waved.

Troye looked out into the crowd of common people and saw Jacob peek his head from behind someones shoulder. He nodded before looking out at the ship.

"Elsewhere." Troye said.

Alexandria looked up. "Your crown is crooked."

Troye quickly fixed his crown as Alexandria sighed. "Your uncle shouldn't suspect us."

"And you needn't worry," Troye says putting his arm around Alexandria's middle which caused the young princess to raise an eyebrow at Troye. "He won't suspect such things."

As he did this he caught Jacob's eye. The green eyed boy quickly diverted his eyes and looked back at the ship. Troye couldn't help but feel... guilty? Why did he feel guilty, there was no reason for him to be.

The sound of  a trumpet blaring took Troye out of his trance. He looked at the ship that was now completely docked on shore and had a piece of ply wood hanging from it so that Hunter and James could get onto land.

"Presenting your royal highness Kings James and Regent Hunter Mellet."

The common people and the servants and knights of the castle bow their heads and Troye and Alexandria walk up to them. "Hello father," Alexandria says kissing him on the cheek. "How was your time in Spain?"

James smiles. "It's was lovely as always," He says. "Our people are eagerly waiting to hear that the princess of Spain will be queen of Spain and England."

Alexandria smiles before taking her place right back at Troye's side. He put his arm back around her middle and that same feeling of guilt wash over him. He was quick to mask it, his emotions tend to show through his face.

James was practically gleaming with joy as he turned the young royals to the crowd. Troye quickly scanned the crowd for Jacob but he was gone, Hunter took note of this.

"I present to you," James said. "Your future rulers Troye Sivan Mellet and Alexandria Love."

The crowd cheered and Alexandria responded with a gleaming smile and Troye just nodded his head. Troye scanned the crowd again for Jacob and still he was gone, it had upset him a little. He had the most fun in a few minutes playing with sticks than he has in a few years.

Several nods and smiles later the crowd leaves and Troye pulls away from the young princess. He does one more scan of the crowd as if Jacob would have waited to see him. Of course he didn't, he was scared of the castle... Troye knew that after their first encounter and it confirmed it once he figured out his plan was.

"Are you okay?" Alexandria says.

Troye looks out to where the crowd was. "I'm fine."

"...I just don't know what to do," Troye said as he looked out the window in his moms room. He's been in there a lot recently. "I can't  help but feel as if I'm living a double life. At the castle I have to be the dauphin, when I'm with Alexandria I have to be her confidant. But when I'm with Jacob I just.... I don't even know who I am."

Troye walks over and sits on his parents bed, takes off his crown and then walks back over to the mirror. He tried to imagine himself as a little kid, with his loose fitted silk shirt, black pants and no shoes. It was getting harder to imagine himself like this, imagining him so free and not willed by anything other than running away from servants.

The part of his childhood was a blur for him and not because of his lost time but because he chose to block it out. The smiles of his mom, the way she smelled and how something as simple as cleaning her own room gave so much meaning to Troye.

He raised his fist as  if he was going to punch the mirror... it wouldn't be the first time, but this was the same mirror his mother had. The mirror she would always bring in front of Troye whenever he felt as if he wasn't enough.

In a split second he broke the mirror, shards of glass piercing his as others fell to the floor. Troye looked at the pieces of glass and then at the mirror that is now just a slab of wood. There were still a few pieces, Troye looked at them... they were broken he was broken.

Troye fell to the ground and screamed which was followed quickly by a sob. He was mad, he was mad that he felt this way... he felt trapped, trapped by so many things he was once protected from. He wasn't a little boy running around anymore, he knew that. He was ignorant to think that he could keep that innocence and rule a kingdom.

"Troye!" Alexandria said running into the room. She looked around, it had a theme of red and gold, it looked like it was barely touched.

She quickly walked over to the young prince and kneeled on the ground in front of him, careful not to kneel onto any broken glass. Alexandria slowly reached out to touch Troye's hand, she knew how Troye felt about people other than himself being in here. He already seemed quick to react and right now he seemed ready to fight.

Troye looked at Alexandria, tears were in his eyes and his hand was bleeding. When Alexandria realized that Troye wasn't going to say anything in dispute she took her piece of silk and wrapped in around Troye's knuckles and part of his hand. The young prince watched how Alexandria moved with such tenderness, like a mother would.

When Alexandria was done she let go of his hand and leaned back on her feet. Troye looked down at his bandaged hand he opened and closed it, he looked at Alexandria and hugged her. At first Alexandria just sat there, he never touched her outside obligations.

She hugged back and when she did he hugged her tighter. They stayed like that for awhile, neither of them saying a word to the other... they didn't need to. It was weird this "connection" they have it felt bigger than it was. Sure, they were both to be wed and be royals but this moment, it felt like something different.
