"Oh my god my darling daughter," King James says rushing up to his daughter. "I got word of what had happened to you..." He looks over at Troye. "The both of you."

Troye looks over at his uncle who walks back into the castle. "And I can assure you that we are fine..." I turn over my shoulder and place my hand on Jacob's shoulder. "Thanks to this young man and his friends."

King James looks over at Jacob. "What is your name, surely there must be a way to reward you?"

"Jacob your majesty," He says bowing his head. "I'm just glad that our young royals are okay, no need for a reward."

Alexandria grabs my arm. "Brave and humble," She says. "Surely there is place for them among the guards."

"I do need someone to replace one of my personal guards from the attack after the festival... I'm sure Alexandria needs some as well, especially after the attack today."

Jacob looked over at Troye. "T- your highness I-."

"Nonsense," Troye says. "I'll have my servants get you fitted for amour... you'll be ready by nightfall."

He bows his head. "Thank you... your highness," Jacob says looking up at Troye.

King James smiles as he gestures for the three boys to come over to him. They all had little smiles on their faces. "Come," He says. I'll show you to the servant quarters where you will be fitted."

Alexandria turns to me. "Thank god they were there or else we would've been dead," She says. "It looks like your uncle wont stop until we're gone."

"It seems so." Troye says eyeing his uncle who was watching from the castle door.

Troye was sitting in his study reading something when his uncle stormed in. The young royal rolled his eyes as he threw his book back onto the desk.

"Yes uncle, of course you can come in."

"What do you think you're doing," He says. "Letting that-that common boy have a place on your personal guard."

"That common boy managed to single handedly save my life where as the guards you've assigned to me have done nothing.... if you aren't concerned for my safety I will."

Troye waited to hear his response. He didnt think his uncle was onto him... at least he hoped.

"How dare you say that," His uncle says. "I promised your mother and father that I would keep you safe until you are crowned king and I-."

"And how dare you speak of my mother and father, you onlu have rights because of them. If it were up to me you would have none with all the hardships we've been through because of you!"

"What is that suppose to mean?"

Troye clenched his jaw. "It worries not," He says. "Jacob remains on my personal guard and that is final." He then storms out of the room slamiing the door behind him.

Later that night Troye went down to the basement of the castle. The night gurads weren't on duty so no one would be questioning him. He walked down the tiled halls before entering the very last door in the hall. Once he opened the door there were two marble statues standing in front of him.

It was his mother and father.

He stared in between the two before letting out a long sigh and taking his cloak off. "When I was younger..." Troye starts out. "I remember saying that I was going to be a great king one day. Now... I'm not so sure, I mean how can I rule a kingdom if I can't stand up to my uncle... completely stand up to him."

"Rose always knew what to say..." Troye said to himself. "It's times like this where I truly miss her."

He looks over at his fathers statue and shakes his head. "Only if you knew the gravity of what you've done father. You said you wanted me to be a strong ruler... that's why you did the things you did but only if you knew that everything you've done to me... broke me."

"Do you always come here?"

Troye looked over his shoulder and saw that Jacob was standing there... he was in his armor. The young prince turned around and scratched the back of his head. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Not long," Jacob says.

"And no actually, I uh... I haven't been down here since the day it happened."

Jacob walks up to Troye. "And Rose?"

"She was a servant of mine, maybe even my best friend. My father had her killed years ago... she was the first person I told other than my mother about... well about us."

"Why did he have her killed."

Troye took a shaky breath. "You know... he never told me his reasons for her death. I would assume it would be to make him strong but just like eveything else he's done it did the exact opposite."

The young guard places his hand on the side Troye's face. "Hey," He says. "You are not weak, Troye... you're strong. Probably the strongest person I know... you're going to get through this."

"How? With my head on a spike?"

"With a crown on  you head and maybe another king by your side," Jacob says. "If you'd let me of course."

Troye laughs lightly. "Even if I get rid of my uncle I still have Alexandria and the Vatican... and the Vatican will surely have my head on a pike if they hear that I want to court a man."

"Then let's take this one step at a time," Jacob says. "Starting with your uncle."

"Me and Alexandria are taking care of that."

Jacob makes a face. "Yeah I know... you do realize she has a major crush on you. It's sickenly annoying."

Troye rolls his eyes before smiling. "Do I sense some jealousy?"

"Do you sense some- no. All I'm saying is why don't we have a little mission of our own... with Princess Alexandria," Jacob says. "Consider it one of our many adventures... your majesty."

Troye places his hand on the side of Jacob's face. "You're great you know that."

"Yeah... I know." Jacob says pulling in Troye for a kiss.

Troye places his hand on Jacob's chest and nods his head towards the statue of his parents. "As much as I want to... it's weird to kiss you in front of their resting place."

Jacob looks over. "Right..."

"But I would love to rule England with you by my side... one day. Until then..."

"Has anyone seen Prince Troye." Alexandria said from upstairs.

Jacob and Troye look at each other and sigh. The young guard backs away fixing himself before clearing his throat and placing his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"It seems Princess Alexndria is looking for you... your highness. I think it time we get you upstairs."

Troye nods his head puttingon yet another on of his fake smiles. "Of course."
