-flashback two years ago-

It had been a week since Rose's death. Troye hasn't left his room since then. His father didn't much of it in fact encouraged it. He couldn't afford the court to see his son crying of a servant girl.

Although tonight Troye decided to head down to his mothers room. As he was making his way there he heard his mom arguing with someone... it was most likely his father . The young prince started to slow his steps in order to  not get noticed by his parents.

"I'm not letting you do this to him..." His mother said. "He should be aloud to feel like this."

"It's things like this that will make him a weak king," His father rebutted. "I will not let my legacy be ruined by a son that cries over the littlest things and has feelings for a boy."

Laurelle shakes her head, tears threatening to spill. "Don't you get it shaun," She says. "The fact that he is able to show emotions such as these is what will make him a great king. Can you not see what you're doing to him... you're breaking him."

Shaun sighs and looks down.

"He's your son... and if you try it might not be too late to have a relationship with him."

It was quiet for a minute and for a second Troye thought that his mother had actually gotten through to him. For a minute he hoped his father would see the errors in his way and attempt to make up for it. But just like everything else it was too good to be true.

"The only way he is going to be a great king is if  he isn't worried about a common boy and a serving girl," Shaun says. "I'm taking Troye to Evan and I'm getting rid of  those wasteful memories."

Troye stumbled backwards causing him to knock something over. He took in a sharp breath before quickly walking back to his room. He didn't even make it halfway down the hall before Shaun stepped out into the hall.

The young prince turned around and shook his head. "I'm not letting you do this," He said. "Some wizard isn't going to get rid of my memories father and even if it did it would never make me like you."

"Troye...." His mother said.

Shaun took a step toward his son. "What I say is final."

"As what? My father or my king... because right now it's pretty hard to tell your majesty." Troye said resulting in his father slapping him right across the face.

Laurelle stepped in between her husband and Troye. "Shaun!"

"I already have the carriage waiting for us outside," He says looking past Laurelle and at Troye. "You are to go there... now."

The young prince looks up at his father, holding the side of his face. He decided in was in his best interest not to saw anything and turned on his heels and walked towards the carriage. Laurelle frowned as she watched he son walk away.

"Shau-."

He grips his hand tightly around her throat. "And you," He says. "I could have you hanged for your disrespect towards me and filling Troye with these thoughts. The only reason you're here is because of your family." He then pushes her away before walking after Troye.

"He's here."  A little boy with dirt on his face says as he walks into a little hut.

The woman he was talking to lifted her head up but didn't turn around. She smiled to herself and put down a necklace she was looking at. "I know," She says. "You can send them in."
