Alexandria was many things.
But stupid was not one of them.
Jacob was hurt and it's getting worse the more they fought. Troye was blinded to it of course, his mind was on taking down his uncle and so was Jacob that's why he wasn't going to say anything. He wasn't going to say anything that would distract Troye from what he's been wanting to do for awhile.
"Jacob..." Alexandria said when they had a moment to breathe. "You're hurt and it's getting worse."
"Alexandria I'll be-."
"No you won't," She looks over at Troye who was looking over the courtyard. "Look I get it you don't want to worry Troye but if you-."
"Princess," Jacob said. "I promised Troye that I would help him, I'm not breaking that prom-."
He stumbles and falls onto Alexandria, the young princess helps him back to his feet but kept a somewhat tight grip on the young knight.
"I'm sorry but I'm not letting you get yourself killed."
"Alexan-."
"Troye," The young princess said. "It's Jacob he's been fighting with an injury."
Troye walks over in a rush and looks down at Jacob's side, blood stained the side of his armor. He looks back up at Jacob who wasn't even looking at Troye.
"How long have you been fighting like this."
"Since after you left," Jacob said. "It wasn't that bad but kept getting worse as I kept fighting. I just need to rest and I will be fi-."
"No," Troye said. "For once I'm going to order you as my knight to stand down for this. You aren't risking your life like this... not for me."
"I risked my life when I kissed you that day in town," Jacob said pulling out of Alexandria's grip. "I risked my life every day I talked to you... even if..."
Jacob fell to the ground again and before he could get back up Alexandria pulled her bow back and pointed an arrow at Jacob. She wasn't going to shoot it, it was just to get the point across.
"You're staying here," Troye said. "You've risked enough... please don't risk anymore."
Jacob looked between the two of them. He knew that if he tried to get up Alexandria would probably shoot him in the shoulder. When the two royals figured Troye wasn't going to get back up Alexandria put her bow down.
"Just come back to me... please."
Troye smiled. "I promise."
"He'll be okay," Alexandria said.
Jacob looks over at Alexandria. "That goes for you too," He says. "After all the two of you are who I'm protecting."
Alexandria smiles and nods her head before the two of them head down the hall. Jacob watches the two of them leave before he couldn't see them anymore. When he does he rests his head against the cold wall. When he felt himself start to drift of to sleep he quickly sat up, with the amount of blood he lost if he fell asleep he might not wake up.
"You know what I love about young love," A voice said.
Jacob turned around and saw Hunter standing before him with two guards either side of him. His first instinct was to get up and run but even if he did his Hunter's men would catch up to him, he was too weak.
"Watching it die."
"You aren't going to win Hunter," Jacob says. "We've... we've known you were behind this the whole time s-starting with his parents."
Hunter chuckles and walks over to Jacob. He squats down in front of him and presses his hand on Jacob cuts. The young knight lets out a scream before glaring at Hunter.
"Of course I'm going to win Jacob," He says. "And you're going to help me."
"Why would I ever help a tyrant like you?"
The older man smiles as he pulls out a cloth and wipes the blood off his hand. "Why if you value Troye's life of course."
