So I was alright with Reina dying, but not like that! It leaves too many questions about her that I don't like and now she's dead so I can't get them answered :/

This was supposed to be a tribute to her, but I don't think its exactly that. Still, it's Reina earning her place in the Spero with Ichiro, and I now have way too many ideas about Ichiro's past from this, so idk anymore...

————————

Ichiro stood to the side of his father's rally. He was supposed to be watching Genzo and taking mental notes of how to get a crowd to rise, but he really wasn't interested. When he took over the Spero, he wasn't going to do rallies- to dangerous, to public. People could predict your moves from learning your body language and pick up hints from your speech. It was much too easy for the police to discover this place and storm them all.

Genzo was speaking to the people, the gathered Ciphers that had been used and abused for too long by the power-wielding Magiclicas. Ichiro did not approve of much of what that cold, cruel man did, but he did agree to the overarching goal- that Magiclicas had too much power and Ciphers needed more.

Above the roar of the crowd in this underground amplitheater, enchanted by himself to keep down the noise, a passionate call still caught Ichiro's attention. He scanned the crowd for who it belong to, just out of curiosity. That, and a battle cry like that in response to whatever his father said meant that there was a serious potential supporter.

Genzo spoke again, and as soon as he finished the uproar started and Ichiro spotted his target: a teenage girl, purple hair, what seemed to be heterochromia, with one eye being blue and one purple, and a long single scar that stretched from just under her left eye, across her nose, and cutting through her right eyebrow. She watched Ichiro's father's every move, and when prompted she threw her hands, balled into passionate fists in the air, screaming louder than anyone around her.

She has a history, Ichiro thought to himself, studying the scar she possessed.

The rally continued and Ichiro did not take his eyes off the girl. Genzo chose one Cipher to be inducted into the Spero as he always did, showing off his power that no one by those inside the Spero knew. Ichiro secretly hoped that his father might choose the girl, but instead he chose a man in his late thirties, blind, but obviously still with potential. Ichiro understood why his father chose that man, but he thought the girl still would have been a better choice.

We need to appeal to the new generation. They are the ones that matter, that will see in the way I do. The adult generation always becomes superficial, outdated, irrelevant once the new generation takes power. That's where I will put my focus.

The rally was coming to a close and people were filtering out of the hidden meeting ground. Genzo was walking toward Ichiro, but he melted into the crowd, searching for the purple-haired girl.

"Where is she... I don't want to lose an opportunity. Father would not be happy... There."

Ichiro spotted her. Not only did he spot her, but she easily just pickpocketed someone's wallet. She glanced around subtly, acting suspicious but not drawing any sort of attention, as she slid the wallet into one of the many pockets in her dingy vest.

Ichiro observed her before approaching. He tapped her on the shoulder opposite where he was, making her look to that side then to Ichiro. She jumped and look panicked as Ichiro smirked.

"Hello there,"

"Hello," she replied coldly, almost immediately
gaining control of herself.

"Do you have somewhere to be? Or may we speak?"

She glanced around the crowd again, cautionary and unsure, although insecurities well hidden.
