Can we just... appreciate how strong of a character Casey suddenly is??
His mother, his only caretaker since his parents are divorced, is dying, and Casey has been the person trying to take care of her while knowing eventually there's no hope and she's going to pass.
He'd have to go live with his father, which he presumably doesn't know very well since he's lived with his mom for however long they've been divorced.
And then the blow that his twin brother is suddenly dead too?!
He might have been slowly mentally preparing himself for his mother's departure, but nothing could have signaled the death of Chase to him as well.
Ima make a list real quick of everything that would leave Casey with some sort of bad taste in his mouth since he first appeared
-Chase made it obvious he didn't like Casey, that's gotta be a blow to Casey knowing the things he did
-totally messed up the play with Ebony
-guilty that he tore some relationships apart, even if they weren't honest in the first place
-Melissa kissed him instead of Chase, that's gotta be awkward
-knows his mom is dying but still trying to care for her anyway
-Chase's sudden death
-having to move in with just his father after all this stuff has gone down
And yet he's still up and about, going to Chase's funeral and not COMPLETELY breaking down. He still was there and tried to get up and say something and only starts to crack when he leaves and then then Melissa goes and let's him vent to her. He still goes and meets everyone at the diner and seems overall like he's okay when honestly who is?
Quinston may have been trying to be a rock for everyone, but even he broke down farther than Casey did. That really says something about Casey.
Dang. The Walker family is just... shattered. Even more so than the crazy relations of Melissa's families
...why does Jakey have it out for the Walkers?! What did they do to deserve this emotional trauma on them and then on us?!
