"Nain, what does Jungkook like?"
I cringed when one of my colleagues asked me something that probably ten other girls had asked already. I grew tired of it, but they just kept coming.
With a sigh, I mumbled, "He likes food, games, sports, singing, causing chaos, and winning in competitions," repeating the words I told everyone who came before her.
"I see," she whispered, deep in thought.
Every girl who got interested in him got turned down by him instantly. They said that Jungkook told them he wasn't interested in dating right now since he was trying to adjust to his work.
Typical of the ever so hardworking Jungkook...
Even back in high school, he used to stay with me at the library all the time after classes, and rejected every girl who came his way.
That's why, these girls literally had zero chances of cuffing him, but they just kept multiplying.
"Thanks, Nain." She smiled at me and walked away.
"I hope you can change his mind," I whispered to myself, watching her get further away from me. I really wanted to see him date, he had been single his whole life...
"Change what mind now?"
I turned to see Jisoo and Joy already bought their ice creams, looking at me confused.
"Here." Jisoo handed me a vanilla one and I thanked her, giving her the money, but she refused, frowning. "Why do you always have to pay me back?"
"Because I hate having debts, obviously," I chuckled.
"Keep it." She pushed the money back to me, narrowing her eyes at me. "Or you won't keep me. I. Am. Buying. For. You."
I sighed, smiling in disbelief. "Okay, gurl."
"You two are so weird," Joy giggled. "One hates when people pay for them, and the other hates when people don't let them pay for them."
"You're even weirder," Jisoo laughed. "Who gets a new crush every minute, huh? What happened to your 'Oh my gosh, Jungkook is so dreamy, I have to get his number'?" She mocked her with an overly fangirling voice.
We started walking to a nearby bench outside the kindergarten while licking our ice creams.
"FYI," Joy sassed, "there are plenty of fish in the sea. There's nothing wrong with checking out every single fish to find the perfect meal for myself."
"Meal?" I chuckled.
"Of course," she piped, flipping her hair. "Gotta find myself a fine ass, buffet-looking man."
After laughing together while sitting down, we watched our classes playing every type of game there, like seesaw, sandcastle, jumping rope, tag and such.
Jisoo heaved a long sigh. "Fine ass, buffet-looking man of mine, where are you?"
I snorted.
"Is my misery funny to you?" She pinched my cheek, playfully pulling it. "How are you and Jungkook, hm? He keeps rejecting girls ever since he came here and keeps clinging to you. Sounds like a lover boy?"
Joy looked over at me with sparkly eyes. Oh how she loved gossip.
"He's just being around me since we've been friends for years. He just needs some time to get to know people."
Joy pouted. "Nothing more?"
"Yep."
He wouldn't get interested in me after all these years. If he would have, he could have done something in the past.
