"Who wants to watch Tom and Jerry?"
"Me!"
All my adorable munchkins cheered in unison.
"Yay! Miss Nain is showing us cartoon!"
I giggled at their excitement and turned on the television that was placed at the far end of the classroom. "Come and sit in a half circle now."
The children quickly ran up to me and plopped down around the television, bumping into each other during the process. Some were still immersed in their own games, playing house at the other end and I just decided to let them be.
My eyes caught one of my boys chewing on something.
"Junho, that's not a food," I said as I squatted down to remove the lego piece out of his small mouth. "This is dirty. Bad, okay?" I made a frown, shaking my head in disapproval.
"Ah."
He pouted, flashing his huge eyes at me, whimpering a bit. Eventually he nodded softly and nibbled on his plump hand. I patted his head, ruffling his soft hair in the process and smiled.
"Good."
I stood back up and turned to all of them. "After the cartoon, we are having lunch, okay?"
"Yes, teacher!" They all shouted.
I nodded and walked out of the classroom and through the long corridor, with the intention of bringing food from the kitchen for my little munchkins.
I glanced at the other classroom that was located next to mine, and got confused when there were children present. The former teacher took a maternity leave last week and her class was supposed to be on break for a while.
They must have found a new teacher.
But I couldn't see the teacher anywhere in there, so I shrugged it off and walked away.
When I stepped into the cafeteria, almost every other teacher was there, forming a crowd. Mostly female ones were there.
The principal was announcing something and I was actually offended that I wasn't called here.
"What's going on here?" I asked Joy who was standing near me.
She turned her head towards me and whispered, "There's a new teacher here and he's grabbing all the attention now."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why?"
She giggled in response. "Because he's handsome of course."
I nodded with my mouth open.
Of course. Why didn't I think of that.
Almost all the teachers in our kindergarten were in their 20s, so a hot guy suddenly making an appearance would definitely steal all the ladies' hearts.
I chuckled to myself. This is going to be interesting.
"So everyone, take good care of him and help him when he's troubled," the principal said as he left the scene.
I stood on my tiptoes to get a glimpse of the new guy, but he was bowing right at that moment and I could only see his ebony hair. Dang it.
All the teachers mobbed him like a pack of hyenas and I somehow felt bad for him not being able to get a breather.
I sighed, disappointed before circumventing the crowd to get to the chefs instead. I didn't want to be a bother as well.
"Hey, Nain. Today's menu is spaghetti and meatballs." I nodded and grabbed the handle of the huge pot, preparing to take it away. "By the way, the new guy's quite the looker, isn't he?"
I smiled at the woman and shook my head. "Haven't seen him so I can't say. Plus, I actually don't care that much so."
She chuckled at me. "Whatever you say."
I took in a deep breath before heaving the pot in one go and staggering to the exit. My arms were deprived of muscles, so I had a heck load of difficulty trying to lift the heavy container and not dropping it on the ground, spilling the precious food.
Why am I so weak?
Heck, I'm weaker than Jisoo and I eat more than her...
Feeling bitter, I took heavy steps back to my class, ignoring the commotion next to me. They were still going at it, being noisier than noisy. The dude must be feeling suffocated already. Poor guy.
Finally stepping inside my classroom with strained arm muscles, I managed to place the pot on the kitchen counter with a huff. I massaged my arm, already feeling exhausted.
It was way too heavy for my weak ass arms.
I clapped my hands, grabbing their attention and yelled, "Lunch time!"

"Bye bye teacher!"
I waved back at Yoonji. "Goodbye!"
That's the last one.
I stretched my neck with my eyes shut tight and yawned after shaking off the stress.
After cleaning the classroom, putting every little toy in its place, I gathered my belongings and walked out of the door, locking it.
"Nain!"
I turned around to see Hoseok running up to me with his usual sunny smile plastered on his bright face.
"Wassup?"
"Nain, you're going to the party, right?"
I stared at him puzzled.
"Um, what party?"
He blinked twice, still smiling. "The one we're throwing to welcome the new teacher tonight."
I blinked repeatedly. "I didn't know that..."
"Aish, really?" He exclaimed. "You weren't there when he introduced himself?"
"Nope." I put the keys in my pocket and threw my coat over myself. "Apparently I'm invisible."
"Aww, you're not invisible." He hugged me out of the blue and patted my back. "Don't be sad. People were just excited about him that they forgot to call some of us."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
He pulled back and showed me his huge sunshine smile again. "So you're coming, right?"
I sighed and stared at him for a while. I really wanted to call it a day and turn in early today because I was craving for that sleep since morning. But his sparkling eyes... They were begging me to say yes.
"Oh, Hoseok." I rubbed my forehead, trying to alleviate the migraine. "Fine, I'll go."
He jumped and screamed in joy, clapping his hands. "Let's go, then. Everyone else left already. I came here to pick you up since you don't know this pub we're going to."
"I hope it's worth it." I groaned while walking with him. "By the way, is he really that good looking? People were literally swarming around him."
"He was handsome," he assured. "But he seemed to be more of a shy type of guy. You know, cute and soft."
Did he say... cute and soft?
"Oh," I gushed. "Now I'm interested."
