ACT ONE

INT. NORTHPOINTE HIGH – DAY

Savannah enters the school. Alone, she sticks out from the groups of friends interacting around her.

INTERCOM

This is the last week to sign up for the talent show. If you wish to participate, speak with Mr. Edwards.

Savannah spots Tristen and his guys nearby. Wants to say hi, but hesitates. She thinks against it and walks away.

Tristen notices Savannah. Catches up with her.

TRISTEN

You were just going to walk by without saying anything?

SAVANNAH

You were busy. I didn't want to interrupt.

TRISTEN

I just wanted to say thank you. If it weren't for you sticking your neck out for me, I wouldn't be playing this Friday. So, if you need anything, just let me know. I know it can be tough. Being the new kid.

SAVANNAH

You mean being dropped into a new school where everyone knows everyone and you feel like you don't belong? I just figured I'd make it through these three months and move on.

TRISTEN

Three months is a long time. If I were you, I'd make the most of them. You only get one chance to experience high school. I wouldn't want to leave with any regrets.

He returns to his friends. Savannah gets a notification. She looks at her phone. Torie posted a new photo of FTW on her Instagram. Captioned: "Guess who's dropping by Honesty's Open Mic Night tonight. Could you be our newest member? #OpenCall."

Savannah looks interested.

INT. HALLWAY – DAY

Torie walks down the hall on her phone.

(CHYRONS OF TEXT MESSAGES)

SHAE: Why are we doing this again?

MO: I don't see why we can't just be a trio. #Trinity.

TORIE: Brandy thinks she's irreplaceable. We'll prove her wrong.

Mo and Shae appear on either side of Torie. Their outfits are fashionable and coordinated TLC/Destiny's Child style.

SHAE

So this is about Brandy. I knew it.

TORIE

You know she's waiting for us to crumble under the pressure, but we're stronger than that. When one door closes, another door opens to bigger and better things.

Mo looks at her phone.

MO

And it looks like she walked right into one.

Shows them Brandy's music video.

INT. HALLWAY – DAY

Torie and the girls walk up to Brandy at her locker.

TORIE

You stole my song?

BRANDY

We wrote that song together. I have just as much right to it as you do.

TORIE

You knew we were debuting it at the halftime game.

BRANDY

Now everyone will know who did it best. See you at the talent show.

She walks away.
