INT. NORTHPOINTE MALL – DAY
The mall is packed. A huge line extends from the food court to the music store. They're going to be here a while.
TORIE
Looks like everyone else had the same idea.
TRISTEN
We'll come back when the line goes down.
TORIE
The signing doesn't start for another hour. It's only going to get worse. I might as well secure my spot. You guys don't have to stay if you don't want.
ABRAM
Oh, I'm definitely not waiting in that line. That's insanity.
TORIE
I thought you were a big fan.
ABRAM
Not that big of a fan. But let me know how that goes.
He walks off.
FLYNN
Do you think you could get Clarke an autograph?
TORIE
Sure.
FLYNN
Thank you. (to Abram) Wait up!
He jogs after him.
TRISTEN
You guys want anything to drink? Snacks? Survival kits? It's on me.
Savannah gives him a hard look.
TORIE
We're good.
Tristen wont's to say something, but walks away.
TORIE (CONT'D)
I know it's not my place, but Tristen really is sorry about what happened. If anything, you should be mad at Vance. That's a whole new low. Even for him.
SAVANNAH
I'm mad at Tristen because he let me open myself up to Vance even though he knew he didn't feel the same way about me.
TORIE
Please don't tell me you have feelings for Vance.
Savannah turns away, embarrassed. She looks through brochures on the wall beside the mall directory.
SAVANNAH
No. Now I know his true colors.
She sees a Wings of Northpointe brochure. An exhibit of artistically painted bird sculptures located in different parts of town. She picks one up.
SAVANNAH (CONT'D)
Have you ever found one of these?
