EXT. PARKING LOT – DAY
Torie and Savannah wait by Torie's convertible. Savannah impatiently searches the parking lot.
SAVANNAH
What are we waiting for exactly?
TORIE
Here he comes.
Her eyes are on Eric as he enters the parking lot.
TORIE
What do you think about Eric? He's cute, right?
SAVANNAH
Yeah. I guess—Wait, you're not...
TORIE
Eric! Come here for a sec.
SAVANNAH
I'm leaving.
TORIE
Too late.
Eric approaches them.
ERIC
What's up?
TORIE
Have you met Savannah?
ERIC
Yeah. We're in a couple of the same classes.
Nods at Savannah.
ERIC
Hey.
Savannah shyly smiles and gives a little wave.
TORIE
We were just talking about how crucial it is to have a good study partner. Especially with midterms coming up. We have history together, but you two seem to have a lot more in common. I have to get everything ready for the party, but you two should talk it over. Later.
She gets in her car and drives away. Eric smirks.
ERIC
She's playing matchmaker, isn't she?
SAVANNAH
I'm sorry about that. We can both just walk away and pretend it never happened.
ERIC
Nah. It's cool. I could actually use a study partner. Though the fact that you're beautiful might do more harm than good.
SAVANNAH
That was actually a pretty good line. Your success rate must be really high.
ERIC
One out of one, so a hundred percent. I'm just trying to make this less awkward than it already is. Maybe we can discuss our study plans at the party tonight.
SAVANNAH
I'm sure that'll be a blast.
ERIC
It's what I do. See ya.
Shae and Mo enter the parking lot. Eric's eyes linger there for a moment before he walks away. Shae and Mo join Savannah.
SHAE
What was that about?
SAVANNAH
Nothing.
She notices the way Mo is watching Eric. Something's up.
