EXT. SCHOOL PARKING LOT – DAY

Carrying a duffle bag, Torie joins Savannah, Shae, and Mo in the parking lot.

TORIE

Hey. I owe all of you an apology. I know I can be a little pushy sometimes.

SHAE

A smidge.

TORIE

I had a good reason. At least, I thought I did. All I wanted was for us to go down in history as legendary. But the greatest legends are free spirits who embrace what makes them unique. So starting tonight, we're doing things a little differently.

She opens her duffle bag and pulls out a basketball. Passes it to Savannah who catches it with a smile.

EXT./INT. JEFF'S GARAGE – DAY

Jeff and Nikki are hanging around inside as Abram pulls up in his car. Flynn is sitting next to him.

FLYNN

We're really doing this?

ABRAM

You might want to get out before I change my mind.

Flynn gets out and goes to set up his synthesizer. Abram follows him.

NIKKI

I didn't think you were coming back.

ABRAM

A surprisingly wise person once said, "Shut up and play."

INT. JEFF'S GARGE – DAY

The band rocks out, living in the moment. Even Abram is locked in the zone. Flynn is having the time of his life.

INT. ABRAM'S CAR/ON THE ROAD – NIGHT

Abram is driving. Flynn glances at him, fidgety.

FLYNN

This means we're friends, right?

ABRAM

Define friend.

FLYNN

Friends hang out and do stuff together. Sometimes that includes miscellaneous events.

ABRAM

I feel like there's a point to this. I'm just waiting for you to get to it.

FLYNN

I wanted to know if you'd go to the basketball game with me.

ABRAM

I wasn't planning on it. Not ever.

FLYNN

The thing is, Clarke's going to be there. You know, the cheerleader I told you about.

ABRAM

I'm aware.

FLYNN

I wanted to show my support.

ABRAM

Then go. What does that have to do with me?

FLYNN

I don't have a ride.
