INT. TORIE'S ROOM – NIGHT
Flynn leads the way inside. Abram, Jeff, and Nikki trail in behind him. Pillows are positioned into a seating area on the floor behind Flynn's shoe box and a bed sheet covers the windows. Flynn messes with his "time machine" and spinning stars project on the ceiling. He turns off the lights and exits.
JEFF
What is this?
ABRAM
Therapy. Enjoy the show.
He shuts the door, locking Nikki and Jeff inside. They avoid eye contact, not knowing what to do. One of their songs plays from the "time machine" as it projects a picture of them together on the bed sheet. Nikki touches the place her key used to be. They look at each other. Look at the pillows.
JEFF
After you.
They sit down and watch the story of their love life.
INT. OUTSIDE TORIES BEDROOM – NIGHT
Abram and Flynn are sitting with their backs against the door.
ABRAM
You really think your little experiment's going to work?
FLYNN
It doesn't hurt to hope. I have a confession. You were right. I had an ulterior motive for getting the band back together.
ABRAM
I knew it was about the cheerleader.
FLYNN
No. You were wrong about the cheerleader. It was never about the band. She was only pretending to like me so I'd be her tutor.
ABRAM
Is she paying?
FLYNN
What? I don't know. That's not the point. I'm trying to come clean here.
ABRAM
Sorry. I'm all ears.
FLYNN
The main reason I want the band back together is because it's probably the only reason you keep me around. I guess I figured that if there was no band, we wouldn't be friends. And your the best friend I've ever had.
ABRAM
You actually think I'd be doing all of this if I didn't like having you around? You're like a bad pop song that just won't go away until you find yourself humming along. It's annoying, but eventually, it grows on you. I guess that means I'm stuck with you.
Flynn's happy to hear it.
