ACT TWO
EXT. MARTIN HOME – NIGHT
Abram, dressed like Marlon Brando in The Wild One, pulls up. He honks the horn. Flynn rushes out in a tux similar to George McFly's in Back to the Future. He's wearing his backpack and carrying a shoe box with a magnifying glass stuck to the front of it. He gets in the car.
ABRAM
What is that thing?
FLYNN
A time machine.
He buckles up.
INT. LOGAN HOME/FOYER – NIGHT
Abram and Flynn walk into the party.
ABRAM
There goes my streak.
FLYNN
I'm going to go set up. See if you can locate the targets.
ABRAM
Yes, sir.
Flynn heads for the staircase. Walks past the guests on the steps.
INT. TORIE'S ROOM – NIGHT
At the top of the stairs, Flynn enters the first room he sees. Torie's bedroom. Closes the door behind him.
INT. LOGAN HOME/FOYER – NIGHT
Abram wanders through the crowd searching for Nikki and Jeff. Torie approaches him.
TORIE
Brando.
ABRAM
Dandridge.
TORIE
You're the first person who got it right.
She looks over her shoulder at Jaxson who's still on the dance floor.
TORIE (CONT'D)
Jaxson still has no idea.
Seeing the smile on her face makes Abram uncomfortable. He feels bad for her.
ABRAM
Not surprising.
TORIE
Well, I'm surprised you showed up. If I knew you were coming, I would have hidden all the fragile items. I know how you like to break other people's things.
ABRAM
I've outgrown that phase. I'm a new man.
TORIE
We'll see.
ABRAM
I'm looking for Nikki and Jeff. Have you seen them?
TORIE
Yeah. If they're not in the foyer, check in one of the living rooms.
ABRAM
How many living rooms do you have?
TORIE
Well, one's actually the family room. I didn't want to confuse you.
ABRAM
You're doing a horrible job.
He starts to walk away.
TORIE
Try not to enjoy yourself too much.
ABRAM
You didn't think I actually came here to have fun, did you?
TORIE
Right. Let me guess. You're here to make fun of all the cool kids?
ABRAM
Not today. I'm on a mission.
He continues his search around the room.
The front door opens. VANCE (tough guy, obnoxious) posts up against the doorway sporting suspenders and a fedora.
VANCE
Guess who's back, clowns!
He enters the foyer and greets some friends by roughhousing them. Torin shakes her head.
