INT. NORTHPOINT HIGH/ LOBBY – DAY

Torie's stationed at a table labeled "Senior Festival Volunteers." Students stop by and sign up.

TORIE

Thank you. Tell your friends.

Jaxson arrives and makes his way over. He's immediately blocked by Brandy, Shae, Mo (who are fiercely on guard) and Savannah who is less comfortable getting involved.

BRANDY

Not uh. I'm going to need you to turn around and walk away.

JAXSON

It's like that?

SHAE

It's like that.

MO

I hope your detour was worth it.

Jaxson doesn't stand a chance. He walks away.

BRANDY

It feels good to be back.

TORIE

I could have handled it.

BRANDY

Right. And the next minute we know it, you're soaking up his lame excuse for an apology and taking him back.

MO

So we snipped the bungee cord for you.

TORIE

I appreciate you looking out for me, but I'm stronger than that. He betrayed my trust. You think I'd be dumb enough to give him a second chance?

SHAE

Those are your words, not ours, but let's be real here. You are the queen of second chances. Every boy who's ever broke your heart always found a way back in.

BRANDY

Which is why you need us as your security because, sweetie, you're entire estate is high risk.

SHAE

You and Jaxson were together for two years. That's a long time. It's going to be hard to let that go, but you owe it to yourself.

MO

We will shut down your whole network if we have to.

TORIE

You don't have to worry about me. I want nothing to do with him.

BRANDY

Good.
