Chapter 24

The next day, we close in into the island and discover a distance a village inhabiting it. From my spyglass, and I look to a see a Statue of a dragon, one I never seen before. "Hey Fishlegs, can you make out on what that dragon is?"

I toss the spyglass over to him as he catches it. "Might be a boulder class." He answered. "Let's just go in." Snoutlout suddenly interrupts. "We can't just go in, we haven't seen that village before and we don't if they are friend or foe." Astrid argues. I suggested we all go under cover.

As we journey through the woods, I notice one by one of the riders dissapearing, until it's me and Astrid are left. We look up to see unknown people dressed in black clothing from the tree and try to shoot us with darts.

"Woah, were not your enemy." I try to reason, and that we mean no harm, but we were both still shot and lose consciousness.

I wake up to find my hands tied and we are next to each other. We see the mysterious people feeding our dragons along with a girl. She had a dragon and it was skrill with blue markings and gray body. She takes a look at us and glares at me before feeding our dragons with two other people an unknown fruit.

Then, a man with authority walks to us, revealing his name to be Throk, as he grabs my head and painfully makes me bow. He sends out a worship call, with the tribe following as they hail their leader. "Queen Mala, and her daughter, Princess Isabel, of the Defenders of the wing."

The Queen and the girl, who has been feeding our dragons looks at us in an unamused look. "So, these are the hunters you've found Throk?" The young girl asks him. "Yes, your grace." I shake my head. "Were not with Viggo, we are against him." She rolls her eyes at my statement. "Mother, I think they are lying." She says coldly.

"I agree, I can see that you are indeed lying. You were sent by Viggo Grimborn, to destroy their village and take our Great Protecter." Mala quickly states. "That's wrong, we care and honor our dragons, and honor their dragons." I quickly remark. "I certainly don't see it that way, you are using dragons as your slaves."

She tells her daughter to plead with the dragons, that they are free. But the dragons remain here, with us. "See? Our dragons care for us." Astrid remarks. "These dragons, have been enslaved for too long and can no longer think for themselves because of you." Her daughter argues back.

"Send them to a cell, while we set up yeh royal trial." Mala commands. We are pushed for our sitting position and down into a cell. Astrid and Heather try to escape the cell, but I tell them to stand down.

Time skip after both trails...

We walked through the village after Toothless saved us from punsihment. Snoutlout kept trying to impress Isabel, who was somewhat interested but didn't show it. "And this our healing center, where we tend to both dragons and humans alike." Mala explained, she pulls out of the mysterious fruit.

"Sage fruit, it calms down even the most aggressive of all dragons." As she holds it out. "Which is why our dragons have been so docile." As I scratch under Toothless chin. "Yet, when he ignored its effect and went after you. That was brace."

Fishlegs then asked about the statue, Mala explained that the dragon was called an Eruptodon, it eats lava from the volcano. If it was gone, then the village would burn to the ground. "Awesome, it eats lava?" Ruffnut said interested. "You know meatlug pukes lava and-" he gets interrupted by Snoutlout.

"Yeah, well I think the Great Protecter is sleeping on the job." As he points to smoke coming out the volcano. "That cannot be." Isabel worriedly says. "We can fly up there, we can get there faster." Mala shakes her head. "No Hiccup Haddock, while you are here and you may proceed on foot." I nod.

We trek up the path that led up to the volcanic entrance of the Eruptodon. We see food, flowers, and other offerings for it. "The Eruptodon is gone!" Mala yelled to us. "Could it just be on a different side of the island." They both shake their heads. "Hiccup..." As Astrid picks up a arrow. "I think the hunters took the Eruptodon."
