Y/N

"It's all my fault -" He speaks. "Hiccup, I don't-" I try to speak but he cuts me off. "He knows Berk has no more gold and needs trade to survive." We look over to see some villagers hurrying to the twins who handed them some potatoes. "Thank Thor, they came with food. I was starving." One of them cried.

"How can we break through those chains?" He questioned, I looked over at Fishlegs who was thinking the same thing. "Don't worry Hiccup, let Fishlegs and I worry about getting through the chains." I explained to him. "Yeah, you worry about about getting deeper." As Fishlegs and started talking about how they're might be a solution to breaking those chains.

"Let's see, dragon fire won't break through. We know that for sure, what about Changewing acid?" I exclaim. Fishlegs pondered my response into his mind and he nodded eagerly as I jumped on Crystal to get some acid from my Changewing, Windwalker.

Hiccup

I was confused on what they were talking about, getting deeper? Deeper into what? "Um, Hiccup." Heather brought me back to realty as I poured some curry into a man's bowl. "Oh yeah, uh sorry." I suddenly get interrupted by Y/N and Fishlegs. "We have something to show you." Fishlegs said excitedly.

I nod as we follow Y/N and Fishlegs into the blacksmiths where he poured Changewing acid over the dragon-proof into a bucket. It broke easily. "Good old Changewing acid." Fishlegs said impressed. "How?" Is all I could say.

"Simple, Hiccup. The idea in my head struck me as I figured ordinary dragon fire couldn't break through and monstrous nightmare gel wouldn't work either. So, I thought of Changewing acid. We tested my hypothesis and see if it would work. It seems we were correct, Yes!" As she gave Fishlegs a high five.

"How's the freediving coming along?" Fishlegs asks me. "Well, no matter what I do, I just can't hold my breath long enough." I explained to them. Y/N put a finger under her chin and thought of something. I had to admit, the way she thinks long and hard, focusing on her thought was kinda cute. But I couldn't really say it because I was a coward.

"Maybe you would need to submerge something  yourself with something, long enough so you could reach the bottom and free the Submaripper. Without having to hold your breath, something that could keep the air in." She explained.

I look around the smithy and notice a large object sitting in the back in the rest of the scraps.

Time skip.....

"A old smelting cauldron?" Y/N asked confused. "Essentially. With some added Gronckle iron reinforcements and a window hatch made out of Deathsong amber to keep the water out and the air in."

(Geez Hiccup, how in the world did you get all that stuff?)

"I exit out there when I reach the bottom." Y/N came closer to inspect it while Fishlegs was in awe, "Remarkable." He said. "Well, don't compliment me yet, Fishlegs. We still don't know if it works." Suddenly, Toothless was there beside me, grunting in worry that I shouldn't go in. "Hey, don't sorry bud. I'll be fine." He nodded, but growled disapprovingly as he stepped back.

I hop inside and put on the goggles as Toothless was outside. "One tug means I've reached the bottom. Two tugs means there's something wrong. bring me up." I said carefully. "One tug, good. Two tugs, bad. Got it." I hear a click as the old cauldron was dangling over the edge and creaking and I was lowered into the water.

"Okay, so far, so good." I get interrupted by the sound of glass cracking and water rushes in. It shattered completely as I tugged on the chain multiple times, hurrying for Y/N and Fishlegs to pull me back up.

I make it back in one peace as Toothless drags me out and licked me affectionately. "Fishlegs, it... uh... it needs some tweaking." As I catch my breath, Toothless simply growled and walked away to Crystal. "Oh, don't be so harsh." I complain

Passing through the entire day, it was already night. Y/N, Fishlegs, and I were in the blacksmith working on reinforcing the window. After a few minutes, and waiting for it to cool. I place it back on the cauldron. "There, triple reinforced."

"Hiccup, I just the Auxiliary to Storehouse Island for the last of the rations." Astrid spoke. "And how long will that last." I answer. "I'm not sure." She continued. "Uh, I still need to take this to Lars Lake for one final test." I reasoned, but they were pretty sure that we simply didn't have enough time. Berk was getting worse, and by the looks of it; they might be in complete starvation.

"It looks like there's no more time for tests. Gather the Riders, we leave immediately." They all nod as they leave to gather everyone else. Except for Y/N, who stayed behind with a sad smile on her face before disappearing within the crowd to follow Astrid and Fishlegs.

The next day, we carried a ship with what we decided to call it, the diving bell  in the boat. "Okay, set it down here. Gently. Gently." As Toothless and I hover above a spot we had chosen.

"Okay, we need to act fast. I need to get down there and free the ripper before it notices we're here." I explained quickly. "And how will Toothless' tail supposed to help?" Snoutlout remarked. "Well, contrary to popular opinion, I'm not much of a swimmer."

"Oh, sure, that will work. Nice knowing ya'. " Snoutlout sarcastically spoke. I ignored him and walked over to Y/N and Fishlegs, who was holding the jar of Changewing acid and the helmet. "Don't bring me up unless I tug the chain twice, no matter what."

Time skip after he frees submaripper

After I was brought back to surface, I was happy that the Submaripper saved me. Toothless happily  roared at the Submaripper who roared back before disappearing in the sea. "What happened?" I ask. "Viggo." Y/N says venomously.

"Viggo. No, no, he can't escape." As I try to mount on Toothless. "Easy Hiccup, I got you." Fishlegs assured me. "Don't worry, he won't get far." Y/N spoke as she flew off with Snoutlout and the twins.

Y/N

I wouldn't let him get away that easily as we dove down toward his ship. "Okay, let's wrap this up!" I yell. Before I usher another ward, I see a door fall and a little boat come out with the Grimborn brother's on it.

"Why would they leave themselves exposed like that?" Snoutlout said confused. "No questions, let's hit him with everything we got." As the dragons prepared for fire, except for Crystal. She hesitated and stop before I noticed why. "Seashockers? Hold your fire! We can't risk hitting those dragons." I yell as they ran away.

Even though we let him get away, at least we solved the problem now and people on Berk, were no longer starving now that the trade lanes were open again.
