to the sea

chapter 4

it was offically dark and time for me to find somewhere to sleep for the night. I know i could go back to Henry's ship and sleep for the night but i just did not feel like sleeping there tonight because i know i am going to  be spending alot of time on that ship.

I walked around the town and decided that the ship was my best and safest option so i headed back.

I arrived back on the ship and decided to do some of my duties so i mopped the deck. I begin to wish that my mom was more open and that she let me go on these adventures with her. Maybe she would help me find my dad even though she is really opposed to it. 

I'm still surprised once she realized what i was doing she did not drag me back home and find a way to make sure i would not leave. 

I finished mopping the deck and decidedto hunt for food on the ship. They only thing that was still eatable was the biscuits. 

Biscuits were not bad but sometimes i wish for something else to eat but i guess it would have to do. 

After eating I decided it was time for to call it a day and sleep.

laying in my exuse for a bed i started to think what connection Henry had to my father. Henry was probaly about 10 years older than I was so it was kind of weird that my mom would say something about him like that. 

I just wanted to come out and ask him if he knows my father but the way my mom told me to be careful when i say my fathers name so that is why i do not want to ask him. 

but i had to right?

If i was going to ask him i was going to wait until we made port again just in case that my mother was right and he freaks out and decides to make me walk the plank.

I drifted off to sleep. 

I woke up in the morning and it was the same routine try and find whatever food that is still somewhat good, eat, mop the deck, and start picking up after the crew.  Some of the crew members were the sloppiest people i have ever encountered.

Some of them were nice enough to pick up after them selves but the others well the would throw their left over food at me and laugh because i had to clean it up.

It did bother me but I just had to live with it. i only have to pick up after the crew whenever i want i try to do it as much as i can or it just piles up. When it comes to mopping the deck Henry said i can do it whenever so i try to do it at least two times a day because it keeps me busy i guess and it makes me on Henry's good side so when and if i actualy ask him it wont well hopefully be as bad as i am imagining it. 

Most of the crew had their food and i decided to start cleaning up. most of the stuff i cleaned up was grabbing the blankets off of the floor or putting the scraps of food back to where the food usually stays which is in barrels around the ship. 

once i did that i did not feel like mopping the deck I went to Henry and asked him if there was anything else he would like me to do.

"Good afternoon Captain Henry is there anything that you wish me to do besides my normal duties?" I ask.

"No Miss Evergreen your normal duties is more than enough and thank you for keeping up with them".

I nod my head and walk away.

i decided to stand at the edge of the ship and admire the sea.

"it really is beautiful out here" i say to my self. 

After a hour looking out on the sea i decided to go back to my living quarters and just lay there. 

Being on a ship and not knowing when you will step on land is scary but this is what i have to do know and i just hope my father is still out there and did not die some where. 

I would not think he just dies out there because he is supposed to be this glorious pirate and has escaped being a prisoner countless of times so he should be out there some where and lving his life.

I hope he is nice and believes me that i am his daughter. 

He should because i have this voodoo doll that he should recgonize because my mom has spent so much time with him that he should know what this is.

That is another thing how is he going to react about knowing that my mom had this for so many years.
