Chapter 17

There was not a lot to do anymore we have basically been around this ship but we decided to go explore the dungeons.

We walked down to the dungeons and it was a lot bigger then I remembered.

"Are all ships dungeons like this?" Edmund asked.

"It is not that bad. Just be glad we are not stuck here anymore".

The dungeons were indeed gross.

We walked and walked and there was just water and slimy stuff all around and more buckets. What was with buckets there had to be a reason. There was nothing to do or discover in the dungeons so we just made our way back up to the deck.

We made our way back to the deck and I noticed Captain Jones go back into his quarters .

I looked over to Edmund "now is our chance".

He let out such a sigh "I guess but please do go easy and not just over load on the questions because we do not want to take advantage of the nice hospitality that we have been lucky with".

"Once again no promises but I will try".

"I will take it".

We walked over to the captain's quarters.

"Do we announce ourselves or knock?"Edmund asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Enter" a voice said.

Edmund and I looked at each other and slowly walked in.

Captain Jones turned around "now what I can do for the explorers".

"What do you mean explorers?" I asked.

"I have heard chatter from the crew and they have said that you have been exploring this ship and according to them going into places that you really shouldn't".

"We just wanted to see what makes the Flying Dutchman so great and after what we saw we can see why this is such a marvelous ship" Edmund said.

I was impressed.

"It is really a marvelous ship we just wanted to see what the ship had to offer".

Captain Jones stood up "now I don't mind it but the crew may not like it so please mind yes boundaries".

"We will certainly try" I said.

Captain Jones sat back down "Now what do I owe this visit".

Edmund and I sat down.

"Well we, mostly me, wanted to know so much I just have so many questions".

"What kind of questions?"

"Just how everything happened because not to be intrusive you just came back from the dead and well it is just weird".

He leaned back in his chair "it is a long story".

"It is certainly okay if you don't want to answer because Evergreen here is being really intrusive" Edmund said as I kicked his ankle.

"It is intrusive but I like that. Do you really want to hear the story on how I rose from the dead and everything after that?"

"I know I do but Edmund here is a little scared".

"I like your honesty".

"Why thank you".

"Edmund why are ye scared?"

"It is not that I am scared I just do not want to be rude to you since you have been so nice to us and I don't want to ruin it".

"Are are ye scared of what you might find out?"

"A little bit of that also".

"Well Edmund you might be scared about it but I will explain. 

He then started his story.

Me and my crew were in a deathly battle with the crew of the black pearl. It was a very ugly battle there were people everywhere you see my heart was on the line going from person to person. I did all that I could because my heart belonged to my dearest Calypso and no one had the right to have it. The battle was going on then I caught William Turner off guard and I stabbed him. Jack sparrow had my heart in his hand and I guess he panicked and had a heart and felt the need to save his friend. He ran over to Will and placed a dagger in Will's hand and pushed the dagger in my heart. Then I was gone. The last thing I remember was falling into the water then I woke up in a sand filled place knowing it was my own locker. I did everything I could and I made it out and here I am. I went to Turner's home and just made an appearance then left. He must of sensed me and got up I didn't do anything to him even though I wanted to just slash his throats I didn't. I found the Dutchman along the coast and here I am. I don't know why the Dutchman took me back but I am the captain of this ship and I am glad to be back. My main goal now is to get my revenge on Sparrow and Turner.

Edmund and I looked at each other.

"Anymore questions".

"No I think that covered everything right Evergreen?".

"I just have a few more".

"Well go on".

"Why are you covered in tentacles, why do you have a tentacle in the place where the piano is, and why are you being so nice to us?"

"I have tentacles because being captain of the Dutchman requires to send souls to next life and well I didn't do this is the punishment for doing so. I also can't go on land, I can only step foot once every 10 years. I have the tentacle to remind me of the great sea monster that served aside me also known as the Kraken. The truth is that I see so much of me in both of you. Both of you are like the children I never had. With you Evergreen I see the assertiveness,care lees, and just overall curious that it is in some parts of me. Edmund I see the braveness in you that has not come out yet. This has to be your first adventure and you just have to believe in yourself and that is why you and Evergreen fit so well together because she pushes you into uncomfortable situations which will benefit you".

"See Edmund" I said.

"Ha ha" he said.

"Captain Jones that was really more story than I was expecting but thank you so much for telling us that and expressing so much to us".

"Yes Captain thank you".

Captain Jones got up "why since you got to know more of me I think it is only fair for me to know more of you. I will grab some food and I will be back".

"Now what" Edmund said.

"Just relax just make up as much as we can" I said.

"Hope it works" I whispered to myself.
