Chapter 28

Most of my time I spent alone. It was weird not being with Edmund all the time but he was having fun and I was not ruining that. I spent most of the time towards the front of the ship because no one was ever there and I don't want to be disturbed I guess. Edmund casually came by and asked how I was doing every once and a while because mainly he wanted to know if I have told Jack yet and the answer was always no. I didn't mind that Edmund was asking all the time but it was annoying because certainly I did not know when I was actually going to do it.

Even Bailey sometime came and hugged me I guess he know too.

Gibbs came walking towards me "are you alright miss Evergreen?" He asked me.

"Yes why do you ask?"

"It just looked like you are scared and you spend so much time here".

"Oh yeah I like staring at the sea and you and Edmund are having a good time together and I did not want to ruin that".

"You are more than welcome to join us. It is just so nice to see my boy".

"I understand I am just glad to see Edmund so happy".

"Yeah and may I ask? Where are your parents?"

I panicked should I tell him what I told Jones "um well my mom is gone a lot and I have never met my dad".

"Ahhh. I should not probably mention this to you but Jack sees something interesting in you and he feels like he knows you".

"Really that is weird".

I was panicking well not really but.

"Yeah he just says that he can't figure it out but I am sure it is just him going mad because he certainly is at sometimes".

I laughed and smiled then Gibbs walked away.

Maybe he does know because I do look like my mom. I had to tell him soon because it will better to come from me then have him figure it out or something else because I still don't know what kind of history the crew has.

Edmund came over to me "what where you and my dad talking about?" He asked.

"Nothing really he was just checking to see if I was okay because I guess I look lonely. He also was telling me that I remind Jack of someone. I also gave him the same story that I had to tell Jones when he asked about my parents".

"Oh see people do care. That was the perfect opportunity to tell someone about Jack".

I have him a look "oh sure Edmund I'll just tell your dad oh yeah my mom is gone a lot and my dad well he was over there and doesn't know that I exist and he left my mom on an island".

He laughed "yeah that would be to intense and a little over the top to say it like that".

"Just say if I did tell him do you think your dad will believe me? Without showing him the doll?"

"Ehhh maybe I don't know. He probably would it depends how much he knows about the history between your mom and Jack".

"Yeah that is true but Edmund I will tell him eventually it is just I have been waiting for this ever since I left home and now that it is here it feels like a dream".

He put his hands on my shoulder "you got this whenever you decide to do it and if you don't then that is okay".

I smiled "thanks".

"Now let us go explore together once again and get into some trouble".

I agreed.

We went all the way down to the bottom of the ship and the dungeon was weirdly clean and not disgusting. We then proceeded to make our way around the ship and came across where all the cannons and weapons were. That area was interesting but Edmund and I didn't stay long and made our way back up the ship. Edmund and I then went to to ship where the wheel was. The one who did the steering besides Jack always had a parrot on his shoulder and I guess the parrot talked for him. Which is cool.

I waved to their direction and the parrot said hi and then the man waved to me also. Maybe I can make friends with them.

"Gibbs what are their names?" I asked him.

"Oh that is Cotton and Cotton's parrot. He is a mute and the parrot talks for him".

"Ahh thank you and that is remarkable that the parrot talks for him".

Edmund and I leaned against the edge of the ship and just looking at everyone on the ship and how different each of them were.

"Edmund, Do you ever think about returning home?"

"Sometimes but not really this time we spent together has been the best I have had and the most fun. I never thought I would leave home and look how far we have came".

"Yeah I just miss my mom but then again who know when the next time I will see her and I have had a remarkable time with you on this adventure and as much as do want to go home I would never change anything because I am so glad I met you. Meeting you is one of the best things that have happened to me".

He smiled "meeting you is one of the best things that have ever happened to me".

We were both laughing probably because we haven't been this so emotional to one another but it was nice. He gave me a hug then bailey and Jack quickly joined.

We were laughing again. The other crew probably thought we were crazy because I am on the verge of tears. I really did not care because Edmund was truly my best friend.

"Bailey sure does love Jack" Edmund said.

"I'm glad Bailey found a friend to run around with because he was probably so lonely on that island".

"Good think you didn't go complete crazy when he was on you".

"Hey it was the first thing that I saw when I opened my eyes".

"I know I know".

Moments like these joking around with Edmund makes it so much clearer why I am so glad I came. These moments also make it clear on why I am scared to reveal who I actually am because if Jack reacts badly then he may want me off the ship and I know Edmund will feel guilty and want to come with me but I am not going to risk that and have him be separated from his father again.
