Chapter 7

I was all alone now with no way around and I do not know anyone here and I don't even know where here is.

Maybe I should of kept quiet and not say a word to Henry at all but it needed to be said.

"I can do this" I said to myself.

I walked around the town and just to find where to sleep for the night. It obviously sucked being alone with no one to help me out but it had to be done. Hey my mom does it and I am her daughter so I can do it ..... well I think..... nope got to stop thinking negative and start thinking positive.

I was still in shock that Henry gave me money.

I was going to help out a lot.

I walk around and try to find something to eat and I come across this lady selling bread and I decided to get some.

I got bread to last me a while and I walked back over to the dock and see if Henry and the crew had left and they indeed did.

I sat on top of a hill and looked at the water and stared into the horizon.

Oh how I wish my mother was here with me.

I hear kids laughing and enjoying ones company and I wish I had friends. The only friend I have or that I considered one was Henry but he is gone now.

I sat there for awhile and eating my bread and then someone comes and sit next to me.

I look over and decided to pack up and leave.

"I won't hurt you. You just look alone like me" the mysterious boy with light brown hair and very attractive brown eyes said.

He looked about my age. I just smiled and sat there in silence.

"Im Edmund" he said.

"Evergreen" I replied. He held out his hand like he wanted to shake my hand.

I held mine out and we shook hands.

"What are ye doing out here all alone" he said.

"Looking for my dad. Are you alone?"

"Yeah I'm been alone for years now my parents are gone they left me".

I didn't know how to respond I just said "oh".

"Yeah but it's alright I like being alone. Why looking for you dad?"

"He doesn't know I exist mom kept him from knowing about me".

He nodded his head.

"Where exactly is this?" I ask.

"Oh the town name it's the town of valley. I know stupid name".

I laugh "do you want some bread?"

" yeah that would be great thank you".

I smile. I might actually have made a new friend here.

We sat together for a while then the sun was setting and it was getting dark.

"Ye could stay with me if you have nowhere to stay" he said.

"That would be great if it's not a problem".

"No not at all my parents obviously abandoned me and I have this little place which isn't much but I call it home".

"Thank you it means a lot".

He got up and I grabbed my stuff and we headed to his place.

"What made you want to find your dad?" He asked.

"Oh well I want to know what happened between him and my mom and to see if he wants anything to do with me".

"Ok I see".

"Yeah" I laughed.

"And don't worry I'm not going to rob you or anything".

"Wait I didn't...".

"It's just im new you don't know me and I want you to know that you can trust me".

"I don't think you would you don't seem like the person who would rob me".

He smiled and we finally reached his place.

"Well here yi is. It's not much but".

"It's fine".

He showed me where I could sleep and one problem down.

Edmund was a very nice boy and I hope my instincts about him are right and not wrong.
